With 55 years of expertise, 'no' is not an option

Anyone looking for a good partner in the supply of steel products for ground, road and hydraulic engineering should definitely stop by in Hall 1 at booth 506. There you will find Swanenberg IJzergroep from Schaijk. Steel traders in the broadest sense of the word. The company has existed for 55 years.

"Back then, we started trading in used, declassified and unused steel products such as steel beams, pipes and plates," explains managing director Toon Jochems. "Due to market demand, we also started focusing more and more on new certified material. Because our customers also needed ready-made products, we now offer a complete package. This includes the customization, welding to length, blasting and preservation of steel products, as well as structural machining. We focus mainly on the larger dimensions/diameters and somewhat heavier wall thicknesses."

Products and services
A special service of the company is the so-called buy-back/repurchase option. Where a temporary application of material is needed, the desired products can be made and delivered. After completion of the work, Swanenberg buys back the material at a previously agreed price. This includes complete cofferdams, piles and support structures. Jochems: "A good example of this is the cofferdam for the A2 Avenue tunnel in Maastricht, with a total of around 12,000 tons of heavy purlins and struts. Our strength here lies mainly in having these large tonnages in stock and carrying out the work with our own people." The company also supplies steel road plates and dragline partitions for keeping construction sites accessible, for example, in large earth, road and water construction projects. In addition, the company lays access/calamity roads, parking lots and platforms at events and festivals.

Durable and certified work
All work is carried out in accordance with EN 1090 with the corresponding inspections such as Do-NDO-US-UT. Because in the steel sector, too, the requirements for materials and work are becoming increasingly stringent. Furthermore, Swanenberg strives to reuse previously used materials, which is particularly beneficial with regard to sustainability, CO2-reduction and pricing.

Distinguished by large inventories
"We distinguish ourselves by keeping large inventories. Therefore, we can process and deliver the required material quickly. And serve our customers faster. We are therefore constantly purchasing surplus lots and placing orders for new steel products to be produced, which are then transported to our storage sites. And last-but-not-least, we distinguish ourselves by combining appropriate professionalism with Brabant geniality, where the word 'no' is not an option!", concludes Jochems
