HDW Netherlands represents Genie, Manitou, Teupen and Versalift

HDW Netherlands had imagined the past year differently. With the move from Ridderkerk to a splendid new accommodation in Heinenoord, everything seemed to be in place to continue the growth and serve customers even better. Corona, however, threw a spanner in the works, but the upward trend has now resumed and the company has seized the 'period of reflection' to emerge stronger from the crisis.

"Fast delivery times are key today," assures Remko Jonkergouw, manager of Sales & Marketing. "Fortunately, we are still able to deliver, despite the problems at many brands due to supply stagnation. With stock you make trade. If you can't deliver quickly, customers will eventually look further afield." Hans Visser, manager Sales & Leasing Manitou, adds: "We have bought in bulk for all our brands, even already with a view to Q1 of 2022. Another large quantity of Manitous is coming in before the construction period and there are also machines in delivery for after that to keep the stock up."

A large offer, years of experience in the field of aerial work platforms and operating within an international playing field form the DNA of HDW, which is also based in Tienen (HDW Belux). For the Benelux, the company is the exclusive distributor of Genie, Teupen and Versalift. Ruthmann is also represented in Belgium, while in the Netherlands last year the dealership of Manitou (telehandlers and rough-terrain forklifts) switched from sister company Mateco to HDW. "Within this organization, such a brand has its place," Visser believes. "HDW's strength is that we want to offer added value when it comes to machine stock, parts, service, financial services, maintenance contracts and technical training."

REALIZE AMBITIONS

By thinking along with the customer, we try to realize their ambitions. In fact, "everything is within reach," which is well expressed at the Heinenoord location. The new building - with an area of 8,000 m² on a site of 30 hectares - not only has a high-quality appearance, but must also contribute to further growth. Growth of the company itself and that of customers. HDW is active worldwide as a partner of large rental companies. However, the focus is on the Benelux market and Eastern Europe. For example, the company has been a Genie dealer for more than 25 years, now in seventeen countries.

With Manitou, HDW Netherlands has added an absolute top brand to its range. Customers are enthusiastic about this, both rental companies and end users. Jonkergouw: "We offer a one-stop shop for a range of machines from Genie, Teupen, Versalift and Manitou. Everything under one roof, with one point of contact for sales, maintenance, parts and warranty." A formula that appeals, because despite the dip caused by corona, the company closed last year's Benelux sales at 2019 levels. Since the last quarter of 2020, the figures have been on the rise. There is therefore plenty of investment in the service apparatus to serve customers even better.

NEW GENERATION

Finally, it should not go unmentioned that Manitou launched the next generation of telehandlers in April. In particular, the revolutionary new MRT series was enthusiastically received. The range includes rotary models with 16 to 35 meters working height and a maximum lifting capacity between 4,500 and 7,000 kg. The Stage V diesel engines from Deutz (Vision) or Yanmar (Vision+) excel in power and fuel efficiency. The addition Vision definitely applies to the updated MRT line, namely a clear vision of the future based on past experience. The striking cab offers good all-round visibility and is equipped with an 8" or 12.1" (Vision+) monitor. In the compact segment, the manufacturer presents an updated 9-meter rigid telehandler (MT 930H) and 2×2 (MT 730H).
