Leading companies in the construction industry including Alkondor, Lomans and Movares choose Autodesk

Also in recent months, more and more leading companies in the construction industry such as Movares, Lomans and Alkondor have started using Autodesk Construction Cloud for project management and execution to reduce risk, increase efficiency and improve margins. Companies are leveraging Autodesk Construction Cloud platform solutions to strengthen workflows for quality, safety and cost management and connect project data throughout the construction cycle within a single solution that is easy to implement and use.

Alkondor visualizes data and improves project results

Alkondor develops and manufactures facades, windows and doors, primarily for large-scale and complex projects. Alkondor was already working with a number of digital products but wanted to further improve efficiency and collaboration with an investment in digital processes. The team started working with a trial version of Autodesk BIM 360 to see if the platform's functionality could support its document management, version control and issue management activities. BIM 360 has now been rolled out across the organization and is being used it for capturing information on project progress to operate even more accurately.

Chris Schoneveld, BIM Manager at Alkondor: "We integrated PowerBI with BIM 360 to visualize data and improve project results. We use both solutions to provide detailed information on project progress. In some cases, we make changes to production and engineering processes as needed to avoid project interruptions and improve quality. This provides our project managers with an overview of all project-related information, which allows them to make more informed decisions."

Lomans rolls out Autodesk Build in sprints

As total installer Lomans split its business into client teams focused on end-to-end project delivery processes, they needed a way to easily share important project data across teams without being time-consuming or complex. Lomans began using Autodesk Construction Cloud's BIM 360 platform as a shared data environment in 2019 and launched Autodesk Build in 2021. The company used the "sprint" methodology in the process. That way, teams could thoroughly master one particular digital workflow or process and move on to the next process from there.

"By rolling out the technology in this way, we limited disruption to our ongoing projects and were able to learn from the cloud environment and from each other," said Bas Spaan, Data and Information Manager at Lomans. Our goal is that all projects will be live on Autodesk's Construction Cloud and no more time will be wasted searching for documents and data or waiting for information."

More time for value-added activities at Movares

Movares' consultants and engineers solve issues around mobility, infrastructure, digital transformation, climate adaptation, energy transition and circular building. Due to increasing growth, a need arose for a standardized approach to the way Movares implemented and used digital solutions within projects, because not all departments worked in the same way. For this reason, the organization started using Autodesk Construction Cloud's BIM 360 platform, which created a single source for project data.

Due to government legislation regarding data management and cybersecurity, the company switched to Autodesk Construction Cloud's unified Build platform in 2021. It now uses ISO 19650 compliance features in Autodesk Build, which support meeting this international standard. Project data is structured in a standardized way, which means, among other things, that new team members joining an ongoing construction project in the construction department know exactly where to go in their shared data environment for the information they need.

Ron Rijkers, design manager at Movares: "Our teams have already saved a lot of time by using Autodesk Build. This allows them to focus even better on high value-added activities such as the quality of projects we deliver or finding innovative solutions to our customers' problems."
