Sustainable on different levels
The aluminum talus ladder is light, can be quickly coupled, and can even be transformed into a work platform using special brackets.

Sustainability at different levels

EasyStairs' modular talus stairs have become indispensable in the construction and infrastructure sector. The alternative to the 'tinkered' wooden construction ladder, which ends up in the trash after every project, turns out" to be suitable for the most diverse applications. For example, EasyStairs has just completed a special pilot project with the Department of Public Works in which a coupled talus ladder is being used as a work platform. In addition, the cage ladder is also gaining popularity, also due to its modular nature. An interview with Bouwe Bölger, co-owner of EasyStairs, about these latest developments.

Another EasyStairs product is the mobile cage ladder for safely entering a construction pit and/or creating an escape route.

When performing maintenance on an embankment under a bridge, accessibility is an issue in many cases. Regular lifting equipment won't get you there. "Our talus stairs, on the other hand, may offer some perspective. At least that was the approach in the pilot project of Rijkswaterstaat with BAM Infra Nederland," says Bouwe. "At stake was our aluminum talus stairs. It is light and can be coupled quickly. We then developed special brackets so that the talus ladder could be coupled and moved easily and quickly and could be used as a work platform. And that configuration was recently successfully tested under the supervision of associate Rob Schijvens on a pilot project in the east of the country. Apart from under bridges or works of art, the concept of course also lends itself to maintenance on embankments of dikes, over which you cannot walk in a normal way or have no lifting equipment."

Another EasyStairs product is the mobile cage ladder for safely entering a construction pit and/or creating an escape route. "This product has been used successfully for many years, but has an even wider range of application due to new modifications," says Bouwe. "We have a special anchorage in the program so that the cage ladder can be hung very easily on a concrete floor, quay wall or lock. With meter pieces you can then extend the ladder on the job, should that be desired. Ideal for excavating a construction pit, for example. And so we continue to continually develop our modular products to safely and sustainably reach different heights or depths."
