From Hitachi to LANDCROS: The Future Takes Shape in September

Hitachi Construction Machinery Netherlands is using September to showcase both its current machine lineup and its strategic direction for the coming years. At GroenTechniek Holland in Biddinghuizen, the focus is on compact and versatile equipment. A week later, the doors of the renovated factory will open in Amsterdam. Both events also offer a first look at LANDCROS, the name under which Hitachi Construction Machinery will operate starting in April 2027.

The landscaping, earthmoving, and road construction sectors are increasingly converging. Machines must be compact and versatile, while clients are setting higher standards for emissions, safety, and efficiency. For Hitachi Construction Machinery Netherlands, these are good reasons to exhibit at GroenTechniek Holland.

“We’re focusing specifically on the compact segment,” says Sten Moll, domestic sales coordinator at Hitachi Construction Machinery Netherlands. One of the highlights will be the Hitachi ZX95US-7 with a two-piece boom. This compact crawler excavator has an engine power of 50.4 kW and an operating weight starting at 8,320 kilograms. Its short swing radius makes the machine ideal for working in areas where space is limited.

The machine isn’t just displayed as a static exhibit. “We’re setting it up on the demo grounds so visitors can take a close look and see for themselves how it performs in real-world conditions,” says Sten. Product specialists and dealers will be on hand to advise visitors on models, attachments, and applications.

A Sneak Peek at LANDCROS

In addition to its existing lineup, Hitachi in Biddinghuizen is looking ahead to LANDCROS. Visitors will get a sneak peek at two concept models: the LANDCROS Mini and LANDCROS One. To showcase these, existing Hitachi machines have been given the new look. “Above all, we want to give visitors a preview of what LANDCROS looks like and the direction we’re heading as an organization,” explains Sten.

That future will be explored in greater detail shortly thereafter during Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe’s open house event in Amsterdam. Starting in April 2027, the company will operate globally under the name LANDCROS. This change is meant to signify more than just a new brand name. The manufacturer aims to transition more decisively from being a machine builder to a provider of integrated solutions that bring together machines, data, digitalization, and services.

For customers, the existing service organization, the dealer network, and the focus on reliability remain the foundation. During the open house events, visitors can also learn about electrification, remote operation, and LANDCROS Play—a simulator that provides insight into digital machine applications.

The renovated Amsterdam factory also takes center stage. During guided tours, visitors can see how machines are increasingly being assembled on-site to meet specific customer requirements. Examples include the installation of tilt-and-rotate units, overpressure systems, 3D GPS, and centralized grease lubrication. In September, Hitachi will not only showcase the machines available today but also demonstrate how the equipment company of tomorrow is taking shape.
