Two equipment auctions in Moerdijk
Ritchie Bros. will hold two auctions at its Dutch auction site in September 2026. On September 9 and 10, equipment will be offered without reserve. An auction with reserve prices will follow on September 22. The inventory consists of construction and agricultural machinery, as well as transportation equipment.
September is traditionally a busy month in the European used equipment market. After the summer break, new projects get underway and companies make decisions about replacing or expanding their fleets. Ritchie Bros. is capitalizing on this by organizing two separate auctions in the Netherlands within a single month.
This expansion is part of a broader growth in the international auction offering. Ritchie Bros. reported an 18 percent increase in the number of lots offered in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year. At the same time, companies are keeping equipment in service longer due to higher costs and economic uncertainty. As a result, the market includes both used equipment with a clear maintenance history and unused machines that are ready for immediate use.
The first auction will take place on September 9 and 10 and will have no reserve prices. Buyers can bid on used and unused equipment. The second auction will follow on September 22. During this sale, a select range of items will be offered with reserve prices.
By offering both types of auctions side by side, Ritchie Bros. caters to a variety of purchasing needs. The offerings are intended for companies that need replacement equipment on short notice, want to expand their fleet, or are specifically looking for a particular machine.
One of the machines available is a brand-new Hyundai R340L excavator. The machine is being offered with no minimum price and has not yet been put into operation. This means it is immediately available for a first project, without the lead time that can be involved when purchasing new equipment.
A 2001 Cat 992G wheel loader is also being offered. The machine comes directly from the end user and, according to the information provided, has been professionally maintained throughout its entire service life.
In 2019, after approximately 18,000 operating hours, the wheel loader underwent a CAT Certified Power Train (CPT) Rebuild. This included the replacement of the hydraulic system and the drivetrain, among other components. The machine is also equipped with tire protection chains for use in harsh and demanding conditions.
In the run-up to both auctions, Ritchie Bros. is continuously adding new lots to its online inventory. Potential buyers can view the available machines online in advance. In addition, two viewing days are scheduled in Moerdijk for the first auction.
