Compaction machines electrically driven

Emission-free stamping, vibrating or rolling with WeberMT

Looking ahead to Bauma this year, German Weber Maschinentechnik is focusing on vibratory plates, rammers and rollers with electric or battery drive. This means soil is compacted without emissions and without noticeable engine noise.

Weber MT caused a stir in 2004 by presenting the first comprehensive compaction control for manually operated soil compactors under the product name Compatrol at the Munich trade fair. Until then, only large rollers offered the option of controlling compaction progress. With this, Weber set the tone at the time. This year at the world's largest equipment trade fair, the family-owned company - now with the third generation at the helm - is highlighting its electrically driven vibratory plates, vibratory rammers and vibratory rollers.

The maintenance-free electric motors can be started at the push of a button. There is a battery for all machines in the Weber MT battery series. The battery and electric motor are manufactured by Honda. According to the German manufacturer, the engine power and associated working results are equal to those of conventional internal combustion engine models. New is the battery-powered electric motor eGX from Honda. From the proven vibratory rammer SRV 590, for example, the battery-powered rammer SRE 590 DC has been developed. Including battery, it has an operating weight of 68 kg and achieves an impact force of 17.5 kN. Furthermore, two forward running vibratory plates are available: the CF 2 DC and the CFR 90 DC, with an operating weight of 87 and 96 kg respectively and 45 or 43 cm working width. The CF 2 DC achieves a centrifugal force of 15 kN, compared to 14 kN for the CFR 90 DC.

At WeberMT's booth, all five electric soil compactors will be on display up close. The German machine builder will additionally present further innovations and variants of existing products. After all, the portfolio also includes vibratory plates, reversible soil compactors, vibratory rammers, reversing rollers and trench rollers. Concrete vibrators for concrete compaction and joint cutters complete the product range. Nearly 60 percent of sales are achieved through exports.
