Whereas in the past it was necessary to 'fight' to be allowed to add a brand of equipment to the delivery program, now brands are queuing up to be included in the range. Henk Saes and his companies have built a reputation that extends far beyond the country's borders. He himself is down-to-earth about it, because he can also explain why the roles have now been reversed.
"It's all about service in the end," says Henk. "With our companies in Weert and Beverwijk, we obviously only supply 'top of the bill' equipment, but what good is that if the service is not at least as good? Major brands in equipment now know that their name also stands or falls with the person who looks after their interests and ensures that work can continue at all times."
Leak Demolitions in action with LaBounty.
A "disadvantage" of delivering excellence is that market saturation occurs. Something that Saes International BV clearly takes into account. Henk: "You will be surprised when I tell you the age of some pieces of equipment... they have been working for decades and will continue to do so, provided they are well maintained. And therein lies the rub: you deliver value for money to the customer, who can then work for a very long time with the equipment delivered. This is only possible thanks to good interaction. We also provide support so that the equipment can be used for a long time. That ranges from carrying out repairs on site, to making adjustments on a 'ready while you wait' basis. And maintenance we also get commissioned, which we perform with all the technical knowledge and quality materials we have in-house. So yes, market saturation is occurring and no, that is not a disadvantage. We are already growing along with this development, as you can see, for example, from the fact that we have opened a second location in Beverwijk and are now driving around with three service vehicles -one truck and two Mercedes Sprinters. Because what's good, has to stay good!"
For LaBounty, Saes International BV is now doing exclusive distribution in the Benelux.
So because of the good name, market penetration and outstanding service Saes International has, the company is an attractive player for major brands to partner with. "In January of this year, we added Italian VTN to our program and in April we were also allowed to add LaBounty. VTN has a wide range of shears, pulverizers and grabs for machines up to 120 tons. For LaBounty, we now do exclusive distribution in the Benelux. The brand excels in heavy equipment, for example with the MSD 7500 R, an iron shear with a weight of 13.5 tons, for machines weighing around 125 tons. Also doing well is the MSD 2250 R with 5.5 tons own weight, which is suitable for machines around 50 tons."
Working on the waterfront or in the inner city is subject to increasingly strict requirements. Henk: "People are increasingly asking for 'less disruption'. It goes without saying that the 'old demolition' causes a lot of noise and vibrations. The noise standard is thus exceeded in inner-city areas and nature is disturbed at the water's edge. Especially for those situations, Saes International is launching a line of Epiroc, the Silent Demolition Tools. With these we help to continue working in places where traditional equipment is no longer allowed."
