Leader in sustainability of machinery and pumps

Bunnik Rental and Earthmoving has been a total supplier to contractors in the infrastructure sector for many decades. The family business takes its responsibility in the energy transition and continuously invests in the sustainability and expansion of its machinery and pumping installations. And that does not go unnoticed in the market. An interview with managing director Perry Bunnik.

Due to the heavy rainfall recently, the Bunnik Rental division was a busy place. "We invested heavily in purchasing new pumps," says Perry. "Selling no is not an option with us. Just before Christmas 2023, we were completely 'sold out' in terms of pumps. Thanks to short lines of communication with the factory, we were able to expand our fleet at lightning speed with new units, including fuel-efficient Stage V copies and a series of electric well and dirty water pumps. We have also invested in battery packs. With such a battery, a diesel generator only needs to run for 4 hours instead of the intended 24 hours. That still saves 20 hours of fuel. We also rent out energy-neutral shelters from now on, fully equipped with solar panels and a battery pack."

Everything under one roof

The Bunnik Grondverzet division has been a fixture for various infra contractors for many years. "KWS Infra is currently working in Nieuw-Vennep on a total reconstruction of the Hoofdweg towards the center over a length of more than 700 meters," explains Perry. "Among other things, we are assisting KWS Infra with two earthworkers, a Stage V mobile crane and a 6-ton crawler crane, also Stage V. For the company Van Gelder, we are currently active on the Maasvlakte with the realization of a new sewer system. We are providing the earthwork with a mobile crane and supplying and installing the concrete sewer in a diameter of 1,000 mm. This also involves the use of our light trucks and well pumps with Stage V engines. Because we supply everything from one source, it saves the contractor the necessary administrative costs and coordination. He does not have to knock on the door of three companies, but finds everything under one roof at Bunnik Verhuur en Grondverzet."

Specialist equipment

Bunnik Verhuur en Grondverzet is also a familiar face on the Blankenburg connection. "We have supported construction consortium BAAK in many ways in recent years and are justifiably proud to be part of such a special project," says Perry. "The project is coming to a close for us. Although we are now still working on creating a ground wall on Het Scheur, on the Rozenburg side. The latter involves specific challenges, for which we are using long-jib cranes, among other things." And speaking of special machines, Bunnik Grondverzet recently commissioned another new mobile wheel excavator: a Liebherr 916 equipped with 3D GPS from Leica. "To this machine we can also connect a vacuum pump for machine laying paving, tiles and tires. It is a very complete machine that is still stationed at the Maasvlakte until the end of August this year for Van Gelder's sewer project."

Recently, Bunnik Rental has also expanded its product range to include road plates. "We are definitely a total supplier for contractors in the infrastructure sector. Whether it's a vibratory plate, light truck, trench shuttering, crane, shovel, well or dirty water pump, one phone call is all it takes and the customer is taken care of. And of any type of machine or pump, we always have an electric alternative available."
