Loon- en grondverzetbedrijf Sturris Laren shows its versatility!

Sturris Laren is a familiar face on the A1. Having previously been commissioned by Heijmans on the
first phase of the road widening project between Apeldoorn and Azelo to have worked, the pay-
and earth-moving company operated almost continuously on the route between Apeldoorn and Twello.
The multi-faceted family business also provides all kinds of hands-on services.

The first phase of the A1 road widening was carried out largely in corona time. "We served Heijmans on a broad front during that phase by deploying mobile cranes, crawler cranes and earthworkers," says Arjan Sturris. "They could call us and we made sure we got the right people in the right place. Even in the evenings and weekends. That's our strong point. Incidentally, our employees are having a great time on the project. There is a nice atmosphere and Heijmans makes sure they don't lack anything. A pleasant bonus."

Modern machinery

On the route between Apeldoorn and Twello, Sturris Laren has stationed a mobile crane, a crawler crane and a shovel, among others. "The machines are all equipped with GPS and fitted with the latest Stage V Euro 6 engines. In addition, we run on HVO 100 biofuel for minimal CO2 emissions. Furthermore, we periodically deploy a tractor with a water tank to prevent dust nuisance on the site, although that has been a while," Arjan says with a laugh. "We have mainly been pumping away excess rainwater recently to keep the grounds passable. We also regularly use our broom truck to sweep roads and we also provide all kinds of peripheral services. For example, if something needs to be welded, we fly in a mechanic to fix a piece of equipment or a defective grate on a pit, for example." In addition to a modern machine park, Sturris Laren also has a wide range of equipment pieces and attachments, from a vibrating block or demolition hammer to a pulverizer. "And should a specific attachment be required, we simply rent it with it."

Sturris Laren was founded in 1968 by Arjan's father, who took over and expanded the company with his brother Harry in 1998. "We evolved more and more towards the infrastructure sector with the rental of cranes, shovels and earthworkers. We are also the right place to come for site preparation, soil remediation and sewer and street work. In addition, we have set up our own recycling square for rubble, soil and waste at our site in Laren. We don't sell no. We are go-getters, we put our shoulders to the wheel and together we go for the best end result."
