The congress BOUWEN IN WATER, the industrial energy island, will take place during InfraTech 2023 in Rotterdam Ahoy.
Rotterdam Ahoy and Eventually have decided to join forces to host, simultaneously with InfraTech in Ahoy, the "Building in Water" congress organized by Eventually. "Building in Water" is a continuation of the previous congress World Water Works, which took place at Antwerp Expo on March 23 and 24, 2016.
The symposium deals with the construction and design of an industrial energy island in or near the mouth of the Westerschelde estuary, including a flood barrier in the Westerschelde estuary within the framework of hinterland protection, taking into account the accessibility of the Westerschelde ports and a second N-Z connection. Furthermore, the design of a sea container terminal on the seaward side with an offshore working port. and the possibilities for accommodating nuclear power plant(s), an LNG terminal, alternative energy supplies from solar, wind and tidal sources and a.o. establishment of industries
InfraTech counted more than 630 exhibitors and over 21,000 visitors during its last edition. This makes InfraTech by far the most important exhibition for the infrastructure, ground, road and hydraulic engineering sector in the Netherlands. Partly due to the integration of the "Building in Water" congress, the target group of exhibitors, fair visitors, congress participants and speakers will become cross-border, especially towards Flemish Belgium and Northern France. All this makes mutual cooperation natural and strengthening for all parties involved.
The structure of the congress is composed by prof.drs.ir. Han Vrijling, Rein van Vliet of Eventually with support from industry, trade associations and market leaders and currently focuses on a maximum of 15 topics incl. official opening.
