Waar andere materialen tekort schieten, zijn kunststoffen vaak de meest praktische en duurzame oplossing. Mensen denken bij kunststof niet direct aan duurzaamheid. De praktijk wijst uit dat speciaal ontwikkelde materialen de levensduur van bouwdelen en technische producten drastisch kunnen verlengen.

Innodeen (voorheen Kreunen Kunststoffen) is al ruim 30 jaar toonaangevend in de ontwikkeling en fabricage van nieuwe materialen en slimme producten. De innovaties volgen elkaar snel op en vinden hun weg naar steeds meer toepassingen. Algemeen directeur Gijs Kreunen: “Wij bieden duurzame alternatieven, voor alle plekken waar anders te snel veroudering, rotting of slijtage optreedt.”

Circular construction materials

Innodeen has four material groups: Hollodeen, Durodeen, Compodeen and Eelodeen. Each material has its specific properties and added value so that solutions can be created for a variety of issues. The most recent development is the Compodeen WFC (Wood Fibre Composite). Products are manufactured in-house with a proprietary compound consisting of 75% renewable raw material and 25% plastic. With no production waste and fully recyclable. Applications find their way into diverse industries. "Thanks to the patented process, the wood fibers are positioned longitudinally. Together with the high density, this already gives high strength to the material. If desired, steel wires are included as reinforcement.

Applications

We find products such as footboards for trains or 'Simply Housing'; a building system constructed from hollow wall elements. This was used, for example, to build the Guiuan emergency hospital in the Philippines," says Kreunen.

"But thanks to its weather resistance, it is also very suitable as over bank shoring, soundproof walls and fencing."

Collaboration

"We pay a lot of attention to research and development," continues Gijs Kreunen, "We work with suppliers and processors on innovative solutions. The great thing is that there has always been room for creativity and cooperation with other parties. Then new opportunities arise, also in other markets. That cross-pollination can produce high-quality solutions with guaranteed quality. And that is being recognized in more and more sectors."
