A new location, additional capacity, and a growing team. For steel contractor Marsé Montage, 2026 marks the start of a new chapter. For the past six months, the company has been operating out of a spacious industrial building in Alkmaar, after moving from its long-standing location in Castricum. The move not only provides more space but also opens up new opportunities to serve customers even better and faster.
The new location in Alkmaar was strategically chosen. “Thanks to its excellent accessibility, even for heavy traffic, materials and products can be delivered and shipped more efficiently,” says Job Hester, owner of Marsé Montage. With a warehouse measuring no less than 20 by 50 meters, the company now has significantly more workspace than before. “The initial hustle and bustle of the move is now behind us. The dust has settled, everything has found its place, and we’re noticing the benefits of the extra space and capacity every day.”
That expansion began last year with the acquisition of Wiko Staalbouw. “The company has built a strong regional position as a supplier of a wide range of steel structures for both large and small contractors,” according to Job. “From stairs, landings, and handrails to steelwork for extensions, gantries, and complete industrial building structures: the scope of work is broad and diverse. By bringing both organizations together, we can serve our customers even better and faster.”
According to Hester, flexibility is therefore one of the most important differentiating factors. “Customers know that they can still turn to us at the last minute for adjustments or additional work. We work with them to find solutions.” This approach proves to be of great value, especially in the construction and infrastructure sectors, where schedules change frequently and speed is often crucial.
This is reflected, among other things, in the company’s involvement in major infrastructure projects. For example, Marsé Montage is currently making a significant contribution to the work being carried out by the Nieuw-Zuid construction consortium on the A10. “As part of the construction of a new underpass, we’re handling a wide range of steel structures, from gratings, handrails, and support structures to specialized welding work during road closures,” Job explains. “This often requires evening, night, and weekend shifts to complete the work within tight time frames.”
The company is also active in infrastructure projects elsewhere in the country. For the ALSÉÉN consortium, a formwork system was manufactured for work on an abutment along the A27. In addition, the team is currently working on the support structure for a temporary bridge for cyclists and pedestrians, including abutments, bearings, and reinforcement structures. “Together with K_Dekker bouw & infra, we’re working on two new bridges in Medemblik, for which we’re supplying handrails, edge covers, and support plates, among other things,” says Job.
Marsé Montage has an extensive fleet of machinery. Cutting, welding, shearing, punching, sawing, bending, and forming are all done entirely in-house. “We also have a 6-by-2-meter cutting table capable of cutting steel up to 40 millimeters thick, as well as a CNC press brake for precision fabrication and a conventional press brake for larger products.” Quality and certification are also well taken care of. “We are certified to NEN 1090 Execution Class 3, and an IWT (International Welding Technologist) will soon be joining the team. This will bring additional welding expertise in-house, allowing us to advise customers even better and manage all welding documentation in full compliance with applicable standards.”
The ambitions for the coming years are clear. “Controlled growth, further expanding the team, and strengthening our capacity across the board,” they say enthusiastically. “Especially so we can help clients even faster and more effectively.” With a full order book and several exciting projects on the horizon, the company is looking to the future with confidence. “We certainly won’t be short on work for the time being.”
