Bosman Watermanagement has been an expert in the field of water management for more than ninety years. The family business has a bright future, because the next generation is already in the starting blocks to put the company even further on the map, both nationally and internationally. An interview with Willem Brandt who, together with his two brothers, Jochem and Karel, will take over from their father.
Bosman Water Management was founded in 1929 by Bas Bosman. He soon made a name for himself with the characteristic windmill, an ingenious system for pumping away high water in a ditch. The mill has conquered half the world and is still produced in Piershil as type B4. After many years under the management of the Bosman family, the company came into the hands of Stork in the early 1990s. "In that capacity, my father joined the company and was appointed managing director in 1994," Willem Brandt outlines. "Then, in 1998, he took the opportunity to take over the company from Stork and continue as an independent organization under the name Bosman Water Management."

Brandt senior has built the company into an international business with a focus on the development and production of pumping and treatment systems. "We develop pumps of all shapes and sizes and are at the forefront of the fish-friendly pump," says Willem Brandt. "In doing so, we maintain close ties with the Technical University in Eindhoven who are conducting extensive research into the occurrence of damage to fish in pump pumping stations. These results are taken into account in the development of our fish-friendly Vision pumps. Thanks to these pumps, fish migration can take place despite the fact that we live meters below sea level in large parts of the Netherlands. Besides pumps, we also develop specific aeration systems for treatment plants. A fairly recent development is the Blueline aeration system. This is a further development of the regular plate aeration with better efficiency and a larger control range."
According to Willem Brandt, Bosman Water Management is rightfully a project organization with a wealth of knowledge and experience. "We design, produce and assemble solutions fully customized for the customer and can switch very quickly in this regard. The lines between engineering and production are short. Our customers appreciate that and we want to continue to promote that in the future." Currently, the three brothers are being prepared and further trained in the company. The official succession will take place in March 2023. The ambitions do not lie. "Our goal is to deploy the knowledge we have more widely internationally as well, of course while maintaining the pleasant working atmosphere," concludes Willem Brandt.
