Volvo Trucks at the 2026 IAA: New Powertrains and Technologies for the Future

At the 2026 IAA, Volvo Trucks will showcase where it stands today and where it’s headed. New trucks, powertrains, and services will help transport companies increase their profitability, operate more efficiently, and look to the future with confidence.

From September 15 to 20, Volvo Trucks will showcase its current capabilities and the opportunities it offers to customers, the industry, and society at the IAA 2026. The booth will showcase the full range of trucks, technologies, and services that help transport companies increase profitability, operate more efficiently, and strengthen their businesses for the future.

Volvo’s latest electric trucks and (bio-)LNG and diesel powertrains will be on display in Hanover. The trucks support customers at every stage of their sustainability journey. At the same time, these solutions help improve day-to-day operations and achieve productivity and uptime goals. Eight trucks will be on display at the booth, and seven vehicles will be available for test drives.

Experience the electric Volvo truck with a range of up to 700 km

One of the highlights is that the test drives start right at the Volvo Trucks booth in Hall 11.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience for themselves, among other things, the new Volvo FH Aero Electric with a range of up to 700 km, test the new, more fuel-efficient D13 and G13 engines, and get a first look at a prototype truck with a hydrogen combustion engine that will be introduced before 2030.

President Roger Alm sees this as a unique opportunity to bring customers and products together where it matters most: “With the test track right next to our booth, we want to showcase our new trucks and powertrains where they really shine: on the road.”

Comprehensive end-to-end solutions for transportation companies

Across Volvo Trucks’ entire product range, the focus includes advice on choosing the right powertrain, support for drivers in the areas of safety and performance, and the power of partnership with the brand.

Think of service contracts, a network of more than 2,500 certified service centers and dealers, financing solutions, and digital services designed to maximize uptime. Volvo Trucks also demonstrates how customers can take the next step with alternative and renewable fuels, charging and refueling infrastructure, and the efficient deployment of mixed fleets.

Market leader in Europe for two years in a row

Volvo Trucks was named the European market leader in the heavy-duty truck segment (16 metric tons and heavier) in both 2024 and 2025. A major contributor to this success is the Volvo FH Aero, which features significantly improved aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. To date, more than 70,000 units of this model have been sold.

In addition, Volvo’s all-electric trucks have now reached the milestone of 450 million kilometers driven. At the same time, Volvo trucks have consistently achieved the maximum five-star rating in the independent Euro NCAP safety tests.

With new technological developments and launches in 2026, Volvo Trucks will build on this momentum and create even more value for customers worldwide.

“We are proud and excited to have so much to show our customers and the transportation industry,” says Roger Alm. “It’s the result of targeted investments and our commitment to supporting drivers and transport companies, both today and in the future. We look forward to meeting our partners. The IAA promises to be a fantastic event.”
