At the 2026 IAA in Hanover, Renault Trucks will unveil its new light commercial vehicle developed on a fully electric modular platform: the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic. The vehicle stands out because its compact dimensions, a range of up to 470 kilometers*, and exceptionally fast Faster charging times thanks to 800V technology. The new Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic is based on a so-called ‘skateboard’ platform, which was developed specifically for electric propulsion. This architecture allows for a completely new layout of the vehicle’s components, thereby optimizing both maneuverability and available cargo space.
The exceptionally compact electric motor is located in the rear of the vehicle. This frees up the space normally occupied by the internal combustion engine and allows the front overhang to be significantly reduced.
Thanks to the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture, various functions can also be updated remotely and further improved throughout the vehicle's entire lifespan.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic offers an exceptionally high level of maneuverability for a light commercial vehicle. By placing the engine at the rear, the front overhang could be limited to just 770 millimeters. This design also improves the driver’s visibility of the vehicle’s immediate surroundings.
With a turning radius of just 10.3 meters in the L1 version, the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic is comparable to a compact passenger car. This makes the vehicle easy to maneuver on narrow streets and in tight urban environments. Thanks to a height of less than 1.90 meters, the commercial vehicle also has access to most underground parking garages.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic offers a combined WLTP range of up to 470 kilometers*.
Thanks to the 800V electrical architecture, the battery pack can be charged from 15% to 80% in about 20 minutes using a DC fast charger. During that time, up to 280 kilometers* of additional range is added*.
These fast charging times enable more efficient route planning and minimize vehicle downtime.
During the development of the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic, great attention was paid to achieving the optimal balance between the vehicle’s dimensions and the available cargo volume. The L1 model offers a cargo space of 5.1 m³* with a vehicle length of 4.87 meters. The longer L2 version has a cargo volume of 5.8 m³* with a length of 5.27 meters.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic is particularly well-suited for distribution and delivery operations. Thanks to its wide side and rear openings, loading and unloading operations—including the loading of Euro pallets—are quick and efficient.
To meet the needs of a wide range of transportation applications, the new Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic will be available as a closed van and a platform cab.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic is fully connected and continuously transmits the data needed for a dynamic maintenance schedule. This allows maintenance intervals to be tailored to the vehicle’s actual usage.
In addition, the commercial vehicle comes with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty and can be combined with maintenance contracts, financing solutions, and insurance.

The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic will be available in Europe starting in the first half of 2027.
