Valuable formwork advice

In the preliminary phase, MZ Formworks collaborated with Boskalis on the execution of the edge boxes of the curved decks and was allowed to quote. This eventually led to a series of partial orders.

"We are a known relation of Boskalis and in that capacity were also asked to shed light on the execution method of the edge formwork of the curved decks," says Pascal Rijkers of MZ Formwork. "Our proposal was based on prefabricated formwork that could be rehearsed. At a later stage, the execution was done directly on site with shingles we supplied. We would like to be involved earlier and think along with the client to be able to participate later. Investing in a relationship with the best outcome for all parties. We proved that on the N69 as well. For example, we managed to engineer and produce the double-curved box for the bicycle gutters on our 5-axis CNC machine in such a way that it could be used in the field no less than eighteen times. We also made the wedge (point) pieces under the decks so that the deck could be poured on the abutment in one go. And so we always think along with our clients. Anything can be made, as long as it is well thought out," Rijkers concludes.
