For client University Leiden, Van Schaik Grondverzet is realizing the construction of part of the infrastructure in New Rhijngeest South at Oegstgeest.
The university, together with the municipalities of Leiden and Oegstgeest, has been working for years to transform the Bio Science Park into an attractive green and water-rich area with plenty of space for meeting and staying and good accessibility.

This project makes use of Van Schaik's versatility and different expertises for a variety of work. These include 18000 m3 of earthwork, 24 acres of landscaping, the installation of: 8500 eh of pavement, 1215 m1 of sewers, 1600 m2 of asphalt pavement, 460 m1 of markings, 120 m1 of fencing and the removal of 3100 eh of pavement.

The LBSP is the largest innovation district in the Netherlands in the field of Bio Sciences, Life Sciences & Health. Project development and implementation therefore attracts the most sustainable and innovative partners.
Van Schaik has an innovative fleet of machinery in which the machines run on 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO100); an alternative fossil-free fuel for diesel engines extracted mainly from plant residues, waste and residual raw materials and other organic material. In the process, a CO2 reduction of 89% is achieved.

In doing so, Van Schaik grondverzet not only contributes to the execution of the project, but also to the mission to make Leiden Bio Science Park a biodiversity hotspot, with nature-inclusive construction and development already underway. Get on with it with Van Schaik!
