Great site paving

Large-scale site paving

The largest rental company in the Netherlands in our sector is now going to permanently pave its own site and has significantly accelerated the process of loading and unloading road plates. Lekkerkerker has been the address for more than a century for the rental of steel road plates and dragline bulkheads to move heavy equipment efficiently over unpaved terrain, for example. An interview with Hans Stockmann of Lekkerkerker.

"Huge stocks of steel and plastic road plates, dragline bulkheads, drive-up ramps and construction fences are rented from our storage yard that covers 2.5 acres. Our customers know we can deliver large quantities directly from stock, even when construction is busy," Stockmann said.

More pleasant for drivers and in-house staff
"Although there were a few more driving plates back from rental at the end of last year, a regular occurrence for us in December by the way, there are a good number of requests again for this year. Despite the winter weather. We are additionally taking advantage of this season to start paving our yard. That is, the part where the steel road plates are stored, some 8,000 m2 in total. It will save a lot of dust in the spring and summer. Mud in the winter will also be a thing of the past. Much nicer for the drivers and our own personnel. Moreover, it offers the possibility of loading and unloading the driving plates with a shovel instead of the gantry crane. That goes a lot faster."

Lekkerkerker

Lekkerkerker measures 2.5 acres in area.

To compensate for the large-scale site paving, Lekkerkerker is realizing its own water collection on the property. "During heavy downpours, we can then gradually discharge into the ditches of the Water Board. The possible overflowing of ditches is thus prevented," Stockmann says in conclusion.
