Also during weekends and night slots
Since 2007, Koster Cultuurtechniek has been active as a versatile partner within infrastructure and sports field construction. Along and on the A2 between the interchanges Het Vonderen and Kerensheide the company supports main contractor Boskalis with all kinds of infrastructural and logistical work. From earthmoving and milling asphalt transport to unloading ships and depot management, it is all part of the daily practice.
Koster Cultuurtechniek has a modern and versatile machine park. Think articulated dumpers, shovels, crawler cranes, rollers, tractors with water trucks and various trucks, including flatbed trailers, concrete mixers and tank trailers. “These resources are deployed to completely unburden customers, both for large infrastructure projects and short-term maintenance work,” says director Martijn Koster. The company is strong in projects where work is done under high time pressure and flexibility is essential. And thus Koster Cultuurtechniek proves its added value here on the A2.

Boskalis is therefore a well-known relationship. “We have been working together intensively since 2009, a cooperation based on trust and mutual understanding,” according to Koster. “On this project, among other things, we take care of unloading ships at the quay and transporting various raw materials to the depot with large dump trucks. This is done at fixed prices per ton. That gives clarity and brings calm to the execution. At peak times, we deploy up to ten articulated dump trucks simultaneously, including crew to carry out the work safely and efficiently. We also provide the supply of working water for concrete production, dust control and cooling of the asphalt machines and tillers, among other things, as well as the removal of milling asphalt.”

What sets Koster Cultuurtechniek apart is keeping appointments. “In an industry where planning is often under pressure, this is an important value,” Koster believes. “In addition, we are set up to work 24-hour shifts. We work with experienced people who know exactly what is needed on a project like this. And who also do not hesitate to enter into discussion when they see, for example, that optimizations are possible. That is also where we make a difference: personal contact.” Koster himself is closely involved in the project, from the construction meeting to the planning and execution meetings, he is there. “By actively thinking along about smart solutions and deployment of equipment, it creates a collaboration that goes beyond just executing: doing the job better together.”
The work for Boskalis on the A2 underlines what Koster Cultuurtechniek has stood for since 2007: reliable support in complex infrastructure projects, even under high time pressure and during weekends and night slots.
