Timeless and maintenance-free

Carl Stahl Benelux is part of an international group headquartered in Germany. This group employs over 1,100 people worldwide, spread over more than 70 branches. From its location in Zaandam, Carl Stahl serves the Netherlands and Belgium with high-quality stainless steel cables and cable networks for a variety of applications within architecture and infrastructure.

Within the architectural division, Carl Stahl focuses on two pillars: safety nets and green facades. “Our stainless steel cable systems form the basis for sustainable and aesthetic solutions in the building envelope,” says Erik Ooms, sales engineer at Carl Stahl. “They provide the structural support for, among other things, green facades and other architectural applications, contributing to a future-proof, safe and attractive living environment.

Safety nets

The safety nets are an important application area and are used in balustrades, fencing, bridges and emergency stairwells, among others. “The stainless steel nets provide optimal safety without disturbing the architectural design,” says Ooms. “In fact, it actually enhances the architecture. Thanks to their transparent structure, visibility remains open while the structure provides maximum protection.” For infrastructure projects, such as bridges and overpasses, Carl Stahl provides custom solutions with different mesh openings, wire and cable thicknesses. “Everything is custom-made and is completely tailored to the technical and aesthetic requirements of each project.”

Bridge railings

A key advantage of Carl Stahl's stainless steel cable nets is their durability and ease of maintenance. “Stainless steel is weather-resistant, maintenance-free, hard-wearing and fully recyclable,” says Ooms. “In addition, the material offers a timeless look that fits within both modern and classic designs. We recently introduced the X-TEND CXS cable net, especially for do-it-yourself projects. This net is available directly from stock and easy to assemble yourself. For larger or more complex applications, the proven X-TEND system offers a flexible solution, which can be professionally installed by our assembly and project team. The system is available in different variants to suit shape, mesh size and application.”

According to Ooms, what sets Carl Stahl apart is its personal service and collaborative thinking. “Within 48 hours of a quotation request, the customer receives a response. Our team advises, adjusts designs where necessary on details in 3D drawings and, if required, takes care of the complete assembly with our own teams.” Carl Stahl stands for reliability, quality and customization. From design to assembly to completion.
