Small machines with big power and many options: Yanmar CE launches its smallest ever wheel loaders

The new articulation/oscillation joint on Yanmar Compact Equipment's all-new V7 and V7-HW (Heavy Weight) wheel loaders keeps the overall machine height under 2.5 meters, making them ideal for easy transport.

Yanmar Compact Equipment (Yanmar CE) is expanding its wheel loader portfolio with the launch of a brand new set of small yet powerful machines: welcome the V7 and V7-HW (Heavy Weight). This dynamic duo represent the smallest wheel loaders in Yanmar CE's product range, and are spe-cially designed to stay ahead of the fast-changing demand and tough requirements of construction, landscaping and rental applications.

Customers remain at the heart of the Yanmar CE brand. With the slogan "Building with You" to the recent launch of the new app designed specifically for operators, Yanmar CE ensures that customers are highly valued. Armed with feedback about the intensive nature of the construction and landscaping industry, where hardworking operators have little time to spare between projects, Yanmar CE was inspired to create the perfect solution for them. The company developed a wheel loader that would make the operator's life easier in every possible way, starting with maneuverability. With an overall height of less than 2.5 meters, a width of 1,850 mm (with bucket) and an overall length of only 5,238 mm, the V7/V7-HW easily fits into a standard container. This ensures that the transport machines remain below the prescribed height limit of 4 meters, set by the EU directives under "Weights and Dimensions" of 1996.

The four-wheel-drive V7/V7-HW both have electronically controlled powertrains and a top speed of 20 km/h. This is expandable to a maximum speed of 30 km/h. Customers can further customize their machines by choosing from a premium range of tire brands and sizes, making the V7/V7-HW perfect for any application, no matter how tough the terrain.

The combined kink/oscillation joint lowers the transport height

Unlike other models in the Yanmar CE range, the new V7/V7-HW are also unique in that they no longer have external oscillation and instead feature a smart joint that combines articulation with oscillation, allowing the height of the machine to be lowered. The units are also half a ton lighter than the second-largest machines in the Yanmar CE range (weighing 4,250 kg and 4,450 kg, respectively). This makes the haulers maneuverable, making them ideal for customers who garden and/or operate on soft surfaces. Using a new platform that can support both diesel and electric powertrains, they fill a gap at the smaller end of the company's compact wheel loader range.

Whether transporting materials, moving loads, lifting pallets, clearing or laying pipes - it can all be tackled with a single V7/V7-HW. The hydraulic quick coupler allows the operator to switch seamlessly between buckets, forks, sweepers and snow blowers. The versatility of the units is accompanied by a mechanically operated joystick for precise control of the lift and tilt cylinders, and super-sensitive tools with a pressure pump of 63 l/min and 250 bar. The V7 and V7-HW have bucket capacities of 0.7 m³ and 0.8 m³, respectively. The V7-HW has a higher payload on the forks (1,900 kg) compared to the V7 (1,750 kg). The V7 has a maximum tipping load of 3,000 kg, while the V7-HW can tilt 3,250 kg. Heavy weights are no problem for these light and maneuverable machines.

Powerful, even on the road

To provide maximum comfort and safety for the operator, the V7/V7-HW features an all-new cab. The new cab has two robust doors, made of a steel frame, compared to the more common single-door configuration, which facilitates access, airflow and interior cleaning. The large glazing provides good visibility around the transport vehicles. In addition, these are equipped with a 3.5-inch operator display mounted on the A-pillar instead of the steering column, improving visibility of the front equipment. For warmer climates, operators can rest assured that canopy versions of both machines are also available.

Large glazings provide good all-round visibility - aided by a 3.5-inch operator display mounted on the A-pillar instead of the steering column, improving visibility to the front implement. Hood variants of both machines are also available for warmer climates.

Rear visibility is particularly good thanks to the hood design and the absence of a vertical exhaust pipe. (The exhaust is integrated into the counterweight - which is advantageous in canopy variants, where the operator is not exposed to nearby exhaust fumes, as with a normal vertical exhaust pipe.) Large mirrors and powerful working lights contribute to safety and visibility, day and night. Roof-mounted glazing helps make the operator's job easier when dumping at height.

Ergonomics was given a high priority when designing the V7. The controls are located at a perfect height where they are easy to reach.

As icing on the cake, operators also no longer have to worry about downtime. This is because the V7/V7-HW is equipped with a Yanmar 4TNV86CT four-cylinder turbodiesel. In addition to the low emissions of this engine, it can go for as many as 6,000 hours without scheduled maintenance on the DPF. This is the perfect outcome for customers working long hours in the construction and agricultural industries.

The V7 and V7-HW are manufactured at Yanmar CE's factory located in Crailsheim (central southern Germany) and are aimed at continental Europe, Scandinavia and North America.
