Expanding program of electric machines

Bobcat introduced the E19e, a new two-ton electric excavator, at bauma 2022. The E19e is the second all-electric mini-excavator from Bobcat after the E10e, which was already presented in 2019. In addition, at bauma, the T7X was on display in Europe for the first time. This compact, electric tracked loader was specially developed for the U.S. market, but due to the enthusiastic response from European companies, it is being investigated whether the T7X can also be marketed in Europe.

Scott Park, CEO of Doosan Bobcat had come to bauma especially for the official introduction of the E19e. He pointed out, that the company will continue to invest in the development of electric machines to accelerate the electrification of construction. "We develop our electric machines not only with sustainability in mind," Park said. "The second premise is that in addition to that, they have to be powerful and productive enough to do all types of jobs. So in addition to zero emissions and low noise, our electric machines must provide at least the same performance and uptime as traditional machines. Important, additional benefits are a healthier and more comfortable working environment for the operator and great serviceability."

Battery Technology

In developing the E19e, grateful use was made of the experience gained with the E10e. For example, the battery is built with the same components but has more power. The E19e delivers 17.3 kWh versus 11.5 kWh for the E10e. The battery capacity is 3.5 hours and the noise level for the driver is only 70 dBA. The E19e can be charged during work breaks with a super-fast charger. That means it can be used all day for most common applications.

Clean and quiet

The new Bobcat E19e has the same profile and exterior dimensions as the popular E19 mini-excavator, more than 10,000 of which have been sold worldwide. In terms of stability, lifting capacity and breakout forces, it also delivers similar performance to the diesel version. The constant torque curve - a typical feature of the electric drive - ensures reliable and powerful operations. With a width of barely 98 cm, the new electric machine is easy to maneuver; even in tight spaces. Thanks in part to the extensive range of Bobcat attachments, the E19e can be used for every conceivable construction, demolition and earthwork job, especially, of course, in situations where only low-noise, emission-free machines are permitted.

Comfort

The design of the E19e focused on driver comfort. As with the E10e, this includes extra space between the consoles and the cab. With conveniently placed pedals and thumb-operated joysticks for AUX1 and boom adjustment functions, all controls are within easy reach of the driver. With folding travel pedals and the absence of floor-mounted AUX1 and boom adjustment assist pedals, there is more leg room. The low-noise and emission-free E19e provides a healthy and comfortable working environment and increases operator productivity on the construction site.

Bobcat T7X

With the T7X, Bobcat has introduced the first all-electric compact tracked loader to the market. It is clean and quiet, and has no hydraulic systems or parts that cause vibration. Because the electric track loader has been redesigned to optimize electric drive, it is even more powerful than the comparable diesel version.

The traditional, hydraulic working group in the T7X has been replaced by a drive system with electric cylinders and electric drive motors. This also means that - with the exception of 1 liter of environmentally friendly coolant - the machine no longer uses any fluids or oil, reducing operational operating costs.

The heart of the T7X is a powerful lithium-ion battery with 62 kW of power. The battery life is long enough for most common daily operations or four hours of continuous use. An intelligent power management system regulates the power depending on the load.

Bobcat E10e
The Bobcat E10e was one of the first all-electric mini-excavators available on the market. The E10e is a 1 tonne zero tail swing (ZTS) mini-excavator. With a width of only 72 cm and a folding Tip-Over Protective Structure, it can easily pass through doors and into elevators, making it ideal for demolition and basement construction and for use in hard-to-reach areas. The E10e has a maintenance-free lithium-ion battery that can last an entire working day. The patented electro-hydraulic drive system takes full advantage of the electric motor's capabilities and is optimized for use in tough conditions. The noise level of the E10e is very low with an LpA of only 64 dBA versus 80 dBA for the standard E10
