'Wireless-controlled truck is reality'

'Wirelessly controlled truck is a reality'

For drivers of heavy vehicles, radio remote control has become a reality. Convenient and safe in confined spaces with limited visibility. Thanks to a custom transmitter, Tele Radio makes child's play of steering outside the cab - without compromising safety.

The applications of wireless controls are expanding all the time. Tele Radio is a leader in developing, manufacturing and selling these systems for the industry. For example, Tele Radio has been working with several Volvo sites since 2019 for advanced radio control of trucks with an external steering interface (Exster). There are already successful, operational systems in Scandinavia and Spain.

The Tele Radio PUMA system.

The Tele Radio PUMA system, which is fully compatible with the Volvo Exster interface, is used for control. The receiver is connected directly to the truck's BB-CAN, making installation simple and using as few components as possible. The driver can control his truck outside the cab, remotely. This provides flexibility, overview and therefore safety. The remote control is also efficient because one person can now do the work of two.

By the way, the Tele Radio PUMA can be programmed for any kind of motor vehicle. A truck can use it to drive forward and backward up to 10 km/h, stop, start and turn. All safety systems built into the truck continue to function. It is even possible to program the controls of the overhead crane. Many other truck manufacturers are also working on interfaces for external control. Tele Radio is working closely with them to respond quickly to this trend.
