Simplicity and speed trump revolutionary modular gripper

Switch scales in just three minutes in a hydraulic manner? Yes you can. It can be done! With the SMART&UPGRADABLE MODULARIS GRAPPLE, Tramac is again putting a unique tool on the Benelux market that offers many advantages for the agriculture, forestry, GWW, demolition and infrastructure sectors.

"The product is 100% modular. With just one machine -provided with the Modularis gripper- an operator can perform more than fifteen different variations of work functions," says Benoit Vercruysse, director of Tramac Benelux. "The Modularis can be compared, so to speak, to Demarec's MQP series (crushers and shears, but for sorting grippers), but even more flexible and quicker to change."

Reliable and secure grip

The Modularis is specially designed for the most demanding operation, safe manipulation and reliable grip. The gripper with 'A - Synchro Grip' is unique on the market. "This always creates an optimal and best possible grip, on whatever material," explains Vercruysse. "The modules are widely applicable: from mini excavator to 45-ton digger. Thanks to the Module quick change within three minutes, no substantial investment is required."

Perfect for this customer's application

They can confirm that at the Belgian company Jungling. The specialist in rental of telescopic cranes and aerial work platforms purchased a Modularis MD12 from Tramac, because the cranes also regularly need to get to places that are not already easily accessible. "Sometimes there are trees in the way, or the path has to be leveled. But the company is also in the industry where smaller work toward maintenance is done with an excavator." With the Modularis, Tramac offered a tool that allowed the versatility Jungling was looking for.

Classic turntable

"The MD12 module is the first model where we use a classic swivel head, (the smaller units have a swivel head).  The advantage is that you can put up to 4 motors on the rotation. At Jungling, we used two. That extra power to hold regarding rotation was needed in this case for the Tree Shear scale (wood shears). They also purchased an Alligator scale and the Universal Best Grip scale." Vercruysse notices that the demand for the Modularis is increasing: for example, municipalities are already ordering the Modularis and even the Belgian army is using it. Not so strange," thinks Vercruysse, "because for less money you get more! And the good thing is that the manufacturer is very flexible: if you need a 16th scale, it will simply be custom-made."
