Wood products are widely applicable due to their machining capabilities and for decades have been a basic product for the civil engineering sector, among others. Add this together with the knowledge of a timber trade that can perform machining operations in-house and you have a unique combination for developing specific products for the GWW. From trunk to a durable end product such as wooden bridges, jetties, railings, locks, noise barriers and wall revetment. That is what Boogaerdt Hout does.

Over 250 years of experience

Boogaerdt Hout is a unique company in wood with over 250 years of experience passed down from generation to generation. Started with a wood sawmill and now grown into a household name in the wood industry. With over 50 types of wood and the many processing possibilities of Boogaerdt, there is always a suitable solution for every specific application.

"In addition to the many types of wood, our round timber saw is exceptional. It can cut large sizes in width and thickness and up to 15 meters in length in Azobé and Bilinga, among others. When it comes to wood, we always provide appropriate advice. For example, for each request we look at the best suited wood species, strength and size for the specified application."

From log to strength graded beam

Once the wood is cut, it can also be machined at the same yard, saving time and reducing costs. The machines at Boogaerdt Wood can perform a variety of operations directly, such as shortening large sizes, drilling holes and making snouts. There are also planers that can plan small to large sizes. In many GWW applications, grading wood is of great importance. "Our specialists have all the knowledge to grade your Azobé or Bilinga to a strength of D70 or D50. If required, everything can be delivered to the construction site prefabricated."

Jetties, bridges, locks, sheet piling and fenders

The GWW industry is enormously versatile. With products such as decking, sheet piling, purlins, poles, lock gates and sound walls, it is a very comprehensive industry. All of these products can be provided by Boogaerdt Hout. "Thanks to close cooperation with our partners, we offer a complete end product. Consider, for example, the application of grip strips for extra grip on the KD FSC 100% walkway decking."

Afferden-Deest pedestrian bridge

A nice example of a product of Boogaerdt Hout is the pedestrian bridge that has been realized in cooperation with Flora Nova in Afferden-Deest, Gelderland. Approximately 80 m³ 100% FSC certified Azobé used. This allows walking throughout the area without harming the beautiful nature. With this project, more than 130 tons of CO₂ stored throughout the life of the bridge.
