GP Equipment is a well-known name in the equipment world as a manufacturer of equipment parts for excavators from 0.5 to 65 tons. After the merger with HTS Rubbertracks in 2021, the company will also supply all tracked equipment parts. In December, the activities for GP Attachments and GP Tracks were housed in a beautiful 8,000 m² building right next to the A2 freeway in Weert. This new building should boost the ambitious growth plans.
Since its founding in 2007, GP Equipment has grown into a specialist in attachments, with a loyal customer base. The company mainly supplies dealers and importers. "We make buckets of all shapes and sizes with CW or S suspension. We also build quick couplings, tilting heads, pallet frames, grippers, ripper teeth, compaction wheels and so on," says proud owner Guus van der Paalen. "Quality at a competitive price, that's what GP stands for. From engineering to delivery, everything is done in-house. In doing so, we continuously strive for the highest possible quality and service. By double-checking everything, first during the production process and later before delivery, the bar is set very high and we hardly have any warranty claims."
GP Equipment's strength also lies in its cooperation with renowned brands such as ITM (drive components), Zijtveld (demolition/sorting grabs), Rädlinger (tilting motors) and ESCO (bucket teeth). The company with 25 employees has over 40 years of knowledge and experience in the Benelux market. Guus: "Dutch machinists are known as the most critical in the world. That typifies their enthusiasm. Everything has to be as efficient as possible. This involves certain fixed requirements. For example, digging buckets - including those with S-couplers - must have specific dimensions. Reinforced side walls? Nice for Scandinavia or southern Europe, but here it only means extra weight. As a Dutch manufacturer, GP expressly responds to all these preferences."
GP Equipment delivers mainly in the Benelux countries, Germany and France, but can of course ship products worldwide. Thanks to a large stock, the company can often deliver quickly. In the gigantic warehouse with 6,000 pallet locations, many semi-finished products are stored; products that are largely finished and finished according to specific customer requirements. "For example, there are quick couplings in sizes CW00 to CW40, the common models of which can be ordered in four variants: hydraulic, mechanical, mechanical with spindle or semi-automatic (CW00 and CW05)," Guus clarifies. The finishing of the buckets is also mostly done according to the buyer's specifications. "In the R&D department there are five engineers to translate all wishes and requirements into a final product."
From the new accommodation in Weert, GP Equipment is even better able to streamline all services. "We want to grow towards a one-stop-shop with wear parts for earthmoving machines. The new website plays a crucial role as a platform where customers can order products directly or configure them as they see fit. Online sales are also booming in our industry. GP has grown steadily over the years. With the new building and website, we are ready for the future. We don't have to be the biggest, but there is plenty of potential. GP is already the market leader in attachments for machines up to 10 tons and we are very happy with that. We want to continue that line and are working on innovations to make the range even wider."
GP Equipment's new building fits those ambitions perfectly. With an area of 8,000 m² on a 2-hectare site, there is space in abundance. Naturally, the modern accommodation is fully equipped. The office area is closed off from the workshops and warehouses by a corridor to prevent dust and noise. There is a production workshop and a workshop specifically for customer orders. Two warehouses hold a large inventory of tools, rubber tracks and driving parts. "We supply from ITM sprockets, tension wheels, bottom or top rollers, travel motors, chains, travel plates, rubber pads, pins, bushings, bolts and nuts for all machine makes and types. In a dedicated workshop, we also provide total undercarriage overhaul for customers."
