On December 16, 2019, Van Tetering Grondverzet- en Spoorwegmachines B.V. of Steenbergen became part of Royal Reesink B.V. The company manufactures specialized railroad equipment such as railcars and various attachments for the European rail market.
Van Tetering Grondverzet- en Spoorwegmachines is the expert in the field of adapting and converting standard earthmoving machines, to railroad machines. These are mainly Atlas machines. Gerrit van der Scheer, CEO of Royal Reesink: "Since the addition of Hans van Driel B.V. to Royal Reesink in 2013, Van Tetering has been in our sights. We are convinced that with Van Tetering, in combination with Hans van Driel, we have even more to offer in this niche market. A welcome addition to the Reesink Construction Equipment division."
Carl van Tetering, director Van Tetering Grondverzet- en Spoorwegmachines B.V.: "I am very pleased with this step. Together with the other companies in the Reesink Construction Equipment division, we are continuing to build a future-proof organization with even better service equipment. In the future, we will be able to optimally serve rail customers from eight branches in the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition, this step creates many opportunities for innovative developments in the field of railroad equipment in particular. Where our customers mostly focus on the rental of railroad machinery, we will specifically focus on the rental of equipment and accessories for the railroad market. In doing so, we will expand our services."
Ben Kemp, board member Construction business: "We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Carl van Tetering and his wife. Carl has been loyal to the Atlas product for decades and I am not exaggerating when I say that thanks to his efforts and those of his employees, Atlas has taken a leading position in the railroad world. We are also pleased with the agreement that Carl will continue to have responsibility as branch manager. This gives our customers security for the future because the continuity of Van Tetering is guaranteed. In addition, the direct addition of this highly specialized knowledge and experience is an enrichment for our organization. We see opportunities in the Steenbergen region for Atlas, BOMAG and Kobelco. The emphasis will be on the compaction equipment of BOMAG because we see that compaction, and the requirements for it, in track construction offers great opportunities with the 'Van Tetering customer'."
