Soil injection techniques are gaining ground
The "compactness" of Grondinjectie Nederland's technology means that they can provide a solution virtually anywhere with little inconvenience to the surrounding area and the environment.

Soil and soil injection techniques gaining ground

Soil and soil injection techniques are calibrated methods for, for example, reinforcing the subsoil, making a construction pit moisture-free or combating construction pit leaks. And all that without having to use large equipment or causing inconvenience to the surroundings. Soil Injection Netherlands has noticed a strong increase in demand for these calibrated injection techniques in the infrastructure sector.

The field of application of soil and ground injection techniques is very extensive, begins Torben Kastelein of Grondinjectie Nederland. "For example, we are called in for projects in which we create a water-inhibiting layer in a construction pit so that less groundwater extraction is required. We recently used this technique to create a dry cofferdam (1,600 m2) in a project in Amstelveen. Injection techniques can also be used to seal leaks in cofferdams. In the latter case, think of sheet pile walls that have run out of lock or leaks from parking garages, for example."

Ground improvement

The technique of Grondinjectie Nederland also lends itself perfectly to "petrifying" a sand package so that it can be easily excavated without disturbing the surrounding buildings. "The grain of sand then 'sticks' together, so to speak, and becomes a solid whole," Kastelein explains. "We are now using this technique on a large scale, both in the Netherlands and in Belgium. In addition, we are increasingly being called in for soil stabilization and improvement of existing foundations, particularly because it is getting drier in our country as a result of climate change: groundwater levels are dropping. Because we glue the grains of sand under the foundation together with our technique, we create a broader support for the foundation. With our high-tech (water glass injection) equipment, we can inject very dosed in an extremely secure and efficient manner."

According to Kastelein, the great strength of Grondinjectie Nederland is its enormous mountain of knowledge and experience of soil and ground injection techniques. "The 'compactness' of our technique means that we can actually provide a solution anywhere with little inconvenience to the surroundings and to the environment. We exclusively use environmentally friendly resources."
