One company, one flag, all technology under one roof

The transition from the former Terracon to Molhoek Infratechniek marks an important step within the Strukton group. Whereas both organizations used to have separate identities, they now operate and strengthen each other under a single name: Molhoek Infratechniek. With a wide range of techniques under one roof.

The core remains recognizable. “Molhoek Infratechniek continues what Terracon was strong in, with a clear focus on foundation work for industry, data centers and complex utility construction,” says company manager Patrick Kummu. At the same time, the scope of work is being broadened. “In addition to traditional foundation drilling and drilled pile systems, we offer a complete range of infra and foundation techniques, such as reinforced soil structures, open and closed front drilling, horizontal drilling, green maintenance, pressing and jacking, immersion and rail-related infra works.” Special attention within foundation work continues to be paid to the Tubex system, a technique in which Molhoek Infratechniek continues to develop and which forms an important pillar within the company.

Rail and energy infrastructure

Traditionally, Molhoek Infratechniek has been a strong player in rail and energy infrastructure. “We combine foundation work with rail-related projects, such as foundations for noise barriers, platforms, yokes and catenary portals,” says project manager Leendert van de Graaf. Molhoek Infratechniek also plays a visible role in energy transition. “For grid manager TenneT, for example, we are working, together with Strukton Wegen en Beton, on new high-voltage connections and substations. For example, we are currently involved in a major project between Rilland and Klundert, where approximately one hundred mast foundations are being drilled. Depending on the type of mast, four to twelve bored piles are being used, with diameters of up to 813 millimeters and lengths of up to 34 meters.”

Strong work preparation

According to Van de Graaf, Molhoek Infratechniek stands out mainly in the combination of heavy machinery, specialist knowledge and exceptionally strong work preparation. “Complex projects with high safety, quality and logistical requirements are tackled integrally, often as a general contractor. Thanks to our experience in the petrochemical and industrial sectors, among others, we can professionally organize and manage projects in high-risk environments, from design to completion.” Including geotechnical advice, adds Kummu, who says sustainability is a common thread running through the organization. “We are committed to steel reuse, application of concrete with recycled components, emission reduction through modern machinery and innovative solutions such as grout recycling. This limits waste streams and demonstrably reduces the carbon footprint.”

Joining forces makes Molhoek Infratechniek one powerful player that relieves clients of all their worries. “We not only have the knowledge in-house, but also enough people, equipment and capacity to realize complex infrastructure projects in an integrated way.”
