For the New Lock Terneuzen, Finres undergirded a number of crucial elements of the lock. Namely, the guide rails for the lock gates, the cylinder seat footplates of the bridges and the removable support beams on the lock gates themselves.
Finres has been in the industrial niche market of grouting and under-casting with Epoxy mortars and hydraulic mortars for 45 years. Director Maximilien Scheppers said, "We offer not only an under-cast, but also the necessary explanation, support and guidance to ensure that our customer gets the right application of the right product, for the right conditions."
Looking at the New Lock Terneuzen, the casting of the removable support beams on the doors was a particularly special assignment for Finres. "We were asked if we could come up with a solution for installing these support beams. There had to be a seawater-resistant product that could be applied fluidly between support beam and lock door. And also, after curing, without shrinkage, guarantee perfect alignment and would last for a large number of years. All this with a very high pressure resistance value. Together with the customer and our Chockfast products, we found a customized, quickly applicable and efficient solution to meet these conditions. A solution we are currently applying after each door is in place in its door case. We are proud to apply our expertise to such a beautiful project as the New Lock Terneuzen."
