Transmitters meet highest international standards

Tele Radio radio transmitters continue to work even in soaking wet or dusty conditions. This is because they comply with the international IP65 standard for optimal safety. With this IP rating, manufacturers indicate the degree to which their product is protected against outside intrusion. This could be dust and dirt, but also a sharp object or a splash of water.

The letters IP stand for "International Protection" or "Ingress Protection," where "Ingress" has the meaning of "intrusion. It is an international coding for the safety level of electrical devices. Ranging from a lamp in the bathroom to the transmitters and receivers of Tele Radio control systems.

The IP system works with two digits. The first digit indicates the degree of protection against solid materials, dust and dirt. This is done on a scale from 0 to 6, with "0" representing no protection at all and "6" representing full protection, especially against the penetration of (sharp) objects.

Rain and dust are not a problem.

The second number indicates the degree of protection provided against the penetration of liquid substances. Here we see a scale from 0 to 9, where the "9" stands for complete protection against moisture penetration. IP68 is the highest value within the IP classification defined internationally in DIN EN 60529.

Tele Radio's transmitters and receivers are extremely robust and always meet IP65 and sometimes even IP67 standards. In both cases they are classified as waterproof, but at IP65 only protection is offered against low-pressure water jets and from IP66 onwards against high-pressure water jets. So Tele Radio's transmitters offer more than adequate protection against a splash of rainwater or being dropped in a puddle. With the receivers, the situation is different. Not only must they be able to withstand torrential rain, they must also withstand high-pressure hosing down of machines. Hence IP67.
