The great strength of this partnership: OLA, or Design, Supply and Application of Geosynthetics. The complete package under one roof.
The partnership came about in response to market needs, begins Bob Boonzaaijer of Joosten Concepts. "Designing and applying systems with structural geosynthetics requires specific knowledge. Since within the partnership we have the knowledge of qualified geotechnical engineers, leading suppliers, innovative producers and skilled processors, in short market leaders and specialists, we are able to make a financial and technical difference in complex geotechnical projects. The result is an efficient, sustainable and high-quality solution."

Joosten Concepts has a coordinating role with its experienced project managers. Geologics and Kwast Consult are responsible for the design according to CUR226, CUR198 and CROW 325, among others. Joosten Kunststoffen is supplying all materials for the project, with producers TenCate Geosynthetics and Tensar as the main partners for reinforced soil structures and pile mattress systems. Bonneveld Gewapende Grondconstructies, Molhoek-CCT, Schanskorven Montage, Gebr. Jansen and Van Etten are installing the structures. Vrijenban produces the elements for the concrete facings. "For each construction method and project phase, we have the necessary expertise in-house with market leaders and specialists in each component," Boonzaaijer continued. "Our focus includes reinforced soil structures with green, gabion or concrete facings, pile mattress systems, EPS structures and asphalt reinforcement. But we don't shy away from other geo- and infratechnical challenges either, including combinations with all the other products within the Joosten Kunststoffen product range."

Joosten Concepts is a unique concept for good reason. "Market leaders in the field of geosynthetics who compete with each other worldwide work closely together in the Netherlands," Boonzaaijer states. "A good example is the expansion of Kade Westhofhaven in Vlissingen-Oost for Sagro, in which a TenCate pile mattress system and Tensar's Stratum cell system are used side by side. The expansion of the quay will soon be among the strongest in Europe. With a bearing capacity of at least 150 kN/m2 Sagro is ready to demolish the heaviest parts of the largest drilling rigs. Joosten Concepts has been commissioned to design and supply the pile mattress in accordance with CUR226 in cooperation with Crux Engineering and TenCate, and the TensarTech Stratum system in accordance with Stowa 02-2019 and BS8006-1 in cooperation with Geologics and Tensar. Through the unique cooperation within Joosten Concepts, these two systems can be applied side by side. With this, a customized solution has been realized."

According to Boonzaaijer, the strength of the partnership also lies in its very wide range of solutions. "We are not tied to one type of system or solution, but can provide a solution for all geotechnical issues."
