From April 21 through 24, 2027, the fourth edition of World Of Concrete Europe, held concurrently with the INTERMAT trade show, will bring together the entire value chain of the concrete industry. The event consists of three components: a trade show, a content-focused forum, and a demonstration zone. Under the theme ‘Concrete innovation for sustainability,’ the Forum will focus on three key topics: concrete and CO2 reduction, new production and construction methods, and the most significant developments transforming the sector.
World of Concrete Europe will be significantly larger in 2027. With 200 exhibitors, the trade show offers a broad overview of the latest innovations in the concrete industry. The entire supply chain is represented, featuring concrete materials, equipment, solutions, and new technologies for the industry.
Companies that have already registered for World of Concrete Europe include COMMAND ALKON FRANCE, CONSTRUX PROJECTS, EUROMECC, ELDON, HYDRONIX, HYDROSTOP, IMER, QUADRA, MCT ITALY, PROGRESS GROUP GMBH, SICOMA, and 3R SCHNELL.
How can concrete’s CO2 emissions be reduced without compromising performance? How can industrialization and circularity be accelerated, and new technologies be implemented? Against the backdrop of climate change, increasing pressure on raw materials, and changing work methods, the Forum brings together manufacturers, experts, scientists, designers, and clients. They discuss concrete solutions for building better—with less environmental impact and greater resilience.
The first day will focus on ways to reduce CO2 emissions from concrete. Topics will include reducing clinker use, new binders, CO2 capture, the electrification of production processes, and improved concrete mixtures. In addition, the program will cover material optimization, sustainability, and the environmental performance of buildings and infrastructure. An economic debate will explore the conditions under which these solutions can be implemented on a larger scale. Topics will include investments, public procurement, competitiveness, and the distribution of costs and benefits.
The second day focuses on new production and construction methods, including prefabrication, off-site construction, automation, and additive manufacturing. The session will examine how these methods contribute to quality, lead times, and the efficient use of raw materials. Circularity will also receive significant attention, with topics such as recycled aggregates, selective demolition, and reuse. Furthermore, the program will cover applications of artificial intelligence, data, and digital twins, as well as the design of sustainable, adaptable, and reusable structures.
The third day will focus on water management—a critical factor for the industry—and on adapting factories, construction projects, and infrastructure to heat waves, floods, and extreme weather. The agenda also includes workforce issues, such as recruitment, training, the attractiveness of careers in the sector, safety, and new skills related to digitization and automation. A concluding, forward-looking roundtable discussion will address developments leading up to 2035, including new materials, innovative processes, industrialization, off-site production, circularity, and new economic models.
The full program, including times and speakers, is currently being finalized.
In addition to the trade show’s organizing team, a working group and steering committee have been formed to oversee the organization and coordination of the various contributions to the Forum. The group consists of ten representatives from producers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and organizations in the concrete industry.
In a spacious outdoor demonstration area, World of Concrete Europe showcases new applications, solutions, and technologies for the concrete industry in real-world settings.
The INTERMAT Innovation Awards shine an international spotlight on innovations in the construction industry. The awards are presented to equipment, technologies, services, solutions, and products that contribute to the development of the construction, infrastructure, and materials sectors, as well as to the major changes taking place within these markets. There are five categories that correspond to the trade show’s five areas of expertise, including the Building, Civil Engineering, and Concrete Sector.
In addition, a special World of Concrete Europe Award will be presented by Alessio Rimoldi, Secretary General of BIBM, the Federation of the European Precast Concrete Industry. This award goes to a company with an innovation developed specifically for the concrete market.
