On infrastructure projects, the work environment is often dynamic and space-constrained. A key feature of the Mecalac 6MCR is its design. The boom is positioned relatively far back, which keeps the machine compact all around. This ensures a centered weight distribution and enhances stability during operation.
“What sets us apart is that we don’t just look at the rear end, but at the machine as a whole,” Jonieke explains. “With the three-section boom, you can work in a compact space without losing stability.”
In practice, this means that the machine is well-suited for use in situations where space is limited, such as in narrow streets, along sidewalks, or close to existing buildings. Its compact design helps ensure more precise work and makes efficient use of the available space.
According to Jonieke, the machine’s center of gravity is centered, which ensures that performance remains consistent across the entire swing range. “Whatever you can do at the front, you can also do on the side or around the corner. It stays the same.”

In addition to compactness, mobility also plays a role in infrastructure projects. The Mecalac 6MCR has a travel speed of up to 10 km/h, which allows it to move smoothly around the job site.
Combined with the hydraulic system, this ensures smooth operation. The machine is equipped with separate pumps, allowing multiple functions to be used simultaneously. Driving, swiveling, lifting, and operating attachments can all take place at the same time without compromising performance.
“You’ll notice that the machine continues to run smoothly and consistently, even when you’re making multiple movements at the same time,” says Jonieke. “That gives you control and speed in your work.”
The versatility of the 6MCR is also evident in its compatibility with attachments. The machine can be equipped with various buckets, pallet forks, and other attachments for earthmoving, paving, and positioning tasks.
With a lifting capacity of approximately 3 metric tons at a height of 2 meters and stability across the entire swing range, the machine can be used for a wide range of tasks within the work process. This allows various tasks to be performed with the same machine, without having to switch equipment each time.
On many infrastructure projects, efficiency is a key factor, both in terms of time and equipment deployment. A machine capable of performing multiple tasks helps keep the work process organized and flexible.
“You see that different tasks overlap,” says Jonieke. “That’s when it’s especially nice to have a single machine that can adapt to that.”
