Pentack®: preventive maintenance that rejuvenates asphalt and extends service life

With Pentack®, ESHA Infra Solutions offers a proven solution for life-extending maintenance by rejuvenating asphalt in a timely manner.

Pentack® is a preventive maintenance system developed specifically for rejuvenating asphalt pavements. The product consists of a combination of bitumen emulsions and an activator component that penetrates the top layer of the asphalt. This activator restores the properties of aged bitumen, virtually restoring the penetration value to its original level.

Asphalt pavements age under the influence of oxidation and external factors such as sunlight, salt, acids and oil. Combined with increasing traffic loads, this leads to loss of flexibility and adhesion capacity of the bitumen. The result is loss of bitumen mortar and eventual fraying of the road surface.

Pentack® intervenes in this process by activating the oxidized binder and permanently restoring and protecting the asphalt. Timely application prevents further damage and can cost-effectively extend the life of the road surface.

The product is fully water-based, solvent-free and based on modified vegetable ECO bitumen. Its effectiveness has been validated by Rijkswaterstaat and is widely used by national, provincial and municipal road authorities. More than 5 million m² of asphalt in the Netherlands have now been treated with Pentack®.
