May is a memorable month for Boretech Holland in Zoeterwoude. While May 1, 1990 was once the company's start date, it was recently announced that managing director Jan Zitman is handing over the baton to his second cousin Jaap Zitman.
However, this official changing of the guard has not been celebrated extensively due to the corona crisis. It is true, however, that all business activities are already moving from Zoeterwoude to Vaassen in Gelderland.
So no party, but according to Jaap Zitman there is another newsworthy fact to report in addition to this acquisition last month. "A.Hak immediately purchased a new MT22 horizontal steering drill from the German manufacturer AT-Boretec. In fact, they are already working with it."
A.Hak realizes underground infrastructure solutions for safe, reliable and sustainable availability of water and energy for consumers and businesses. The company focuses on design, construction and maintenance of underground infrastructure. Thus, the Pipeline Construction Department recently purchased the MT22 through Boretech Holland. Drillmaster Richard Gerrits is delighted with this new machine. "If you compare it to cars, you can say that this is much more than the good mid-range machines we already work with. This is the Porsche among drills. You notice that in everything. Ease of operation, speed, accuracy."
The purchase was made through Boretech Holland. Zitman talks about the customization that Boretech Holland added. "For example, the machine was given all the look and colors of A.Hak." A little more specific about the technical data? This Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) machine is built for distances up to 360 meters in regular Dutch soil. The machine's tractive force is 22 tons. Compared to the competition, the machine has very low fuel consumption and has the lowest noise level in its class. The MT 22 comes with 55 rods of 4.5 meters on board. "A.Hak additionally purchased 25 rods to get to 360 meters. The design is compact and provides great flexibility in relatively tight conditions. The cab (drillrig) is equipped with heating, air conditioning, cooler and radio."
Boretech Holland started in 1990 as a supplier of machines with which Horizontal Directional Drilling activities can be done. Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a drilling technique performed from ground level. Meanwhile, the company has added a lot of knowledge and own developments to the products they supply. Zitman: "That makes Boretech known as a dedicated party that does whatever it takes to help their clients drill successfully."
In addition, a wide selection of parts and drilling tools (from drilling fluids to pump parts) is available at Boretech. "For questions, contact us. We will be happy to help you."
