A reliable power source, compact, portable and durable. That, in a nutshell, is the Wattsun, the portable battery system for the professional. The application possibilities of the Wattsun are numerous. From making the utility vehicle more sustainable to a fixed power point in the service bus. Companies such as Van Gelder Groep, Heijmans and VolkerWessels have already embraced the benefits of this system.
Traditional generators have served as a power supply for decades, but anno today it can be more environmentally friendly and quieter. Now there is an innovative and eco-friendly alternative that is the future of portable power, the Wattsun. "The Wattsun is a Plug & Play solution," says Bart Hendriks, co-founder of Wattsun. "You plug in your electrical device, such as a drill or the coffee machine in the canteen truck, and with the push of a button you are supplied with power. It is easy and quick to deploy on the construction site and you are no longer dependent on a power cable or generator." Thanks to the unique "stacking system," the packs, you can easily expand capacity. "In addition, the packs can be changed while in use, so you can just keep working. The Wattsun is quiet and does not emit any CO2, nitrogen and particulate matter. This makes it the perfect replacement for the polluting aggregate and thus interesting for work in inner-city environmental zones and nature reserves."
Van Gelder was one of the first companies to start working with self-sustaining utility vehicles. Thanks to the Wattsun Solarkit, it is possible to generate power on site with solar panels on the roof. This power is stored in Wattsun's batteries. At the same time, the power can be used in the utility vehicle. Head of Materiel Services Evert Mekking explains why he chose Wattsun a few years ago: "The concept really appealed to me, I immediately ordered a few sets, also because we were working on a zero-emission project in Ermelo where we could use them immediately." That went over so well that Van Gelder ran a pilot with the Wattsun Solarkit when it came on the market last year. In phases, all utility vehicles are now equipped with a Wattsun Solarkit. Self-sufficient boarding chains are even being considered. Financially, the switch to Wattsun batteries was also attractive to Van Gelder. Evert: "We no longer need gasoline and gas. Moreover, this power source is maintenance-free and the lifespan of the set, including the solar panels, is a lot longer. Now that it is also becoming more economically attractive, we are all really on the right track." Bart adds: "It's a smart and interesting investment, because within three years you will have earned back the Wattsun. What's more, when you buy our sustainable batteries you are eligible for the Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA). So why wait until 2030 when you can do it now?"
Bart: "The Wattsun is much more than just a battery system; we contribute to a revolution in energy transition with our solutions as well as our knowledge. From the market we see that companies want to change, but do not yet know how. Through our years of experience in the civil engineering and construction sector, we know the challenges in the market. Our future-proof products offer the solution that fits the energy issue of our customers. My appeal is therefore: 'Do you also have an energy challenge? We will help you further!'"
