A divorce with only winners

From the very beginning, Bouwhekken Nederland, partner in temporary fencing, has been involved in the Groene Boog project. Many hundreds of meters of fencing are used to separate construction sites from through traffic. Account manager Gerrit Klaas Gerritsma explains.

The first delivery of construction fences by Bouwhekken Nederland for the Groene Boog project took place more than four years ago back in January 2019. Gerritsma: "It was a large order with so-called anti-climb fences, one of the types we have in our range. They are characterized by narrow mesh widths. Our fences come with feet and clamps or are fixed in the ground. The clamp with foot is traditional in this industry, the tubes in the ground are applied as a semi-permanent solution. In Rotterdam, both systems are applied in combination."

Hundreds of meters

Gerritsma further explains that the loose tubes are especially suitable when the quality of the temporary fencing is paramount, often in combination with a longer period of time. Think of projects lasting about five years. Because this makes the fences more firmly attached, they are suitable for all types of weather conditions, especially gale force winds.

"Our fences are delivered for this project at multiple times after the initial order. They are partially assembled on site. To do this, we work with skilled people throughout the country. Most of our products are used to create a separation between a construction site and the existing road that remains in use by traffic. Because this is a huge project, there are hundreds of meters of fencing here and there in a row. After delivery, our role in a project is finished, but we can also take care of dismantling after the project," Gerritsma explains.

Soundproofing cloths

The customers of Construction Fences Netherlands are usually large construction companies, infrastructure parties and combinations of companies such as the Groene Boog. In the case of the Groene Boog, the fences are purchased by the client. Upon completion of the project, the fences go to the customer who can then use them again for other work.

Gerritsma: "We also delivered a number of construction fence cloths at the same time as the fences, even cloths with a soundproofing character. The latter type of cloth is quite a new development and we have been supplying it since the beginning of this year. The acoustic capacity of this construction fence cloth is outstanding. Up to 5,000 Hz, a reduction of 48 dB can even be achieved. Instead of neutral cloths, our customers also order advertising banners."

"Standard our fences are 3.5 meters long and 2 meters high, but we also have fences that are 1.20 meters high or just shorter. We can offer our printed banners/banners for all sizes of fences. We can design this completely in the style of the customer with our own design studio. An example is information on the banner along the lines of the contractor's name followed by 'realizes here... on behalf of'. Soundproofing cloths are purely functional."

Other elements are custom executor signs and logo signs on the construction fences. These can include the logo of Bouwhekken Nederland as a 'brand', but also customer-specific logo signs on request.
