For many decades, Bunnik Verhuur en Grondverzet has been the preferred supplier for various contractors in the ground, road and hydraulic engineering sector. For example, the company has been a familiar face on the Blankenburg connection and on the Maasvlakte. The company is also investing heavily in making its machines and pumps more sustainable, and has reached the first rung on the Safety Culture Ladder.
Bunnik Rental and Earthmoving is making headway in making its machinery more sustainable. "We are busy electrifying the compact equipment," says company manager Perry Bunnik. "For example, we always have an electric alternative available of every type of machine. Think of an electric vibratory plate, shovel, compact crane, etc. Furthermore, we are proud of the fact that our well and dirty water pumps for 90% run on efficient Stage V motors, and that we as a company achieved the first rung on the Safety Culture Ladder last year." In addition, Perry is noticing an increased demand for trench shoring. Reason enough to continue expanding that range as well. "It has everything to do with the tightened regulations whereby a trench deeper than 1.20 meters is considered a confined space," Perry clarifies. "One is then obliged to take safety precautions against slumping. We rent trench shoring in all shapes and sizes."
On the Blankenburg connection, Bunnik Rental and Earthmoving is a familiar face. "Whereas last year we mainly supported construction consortium BAAK during many weekend works (14 weekends!), we recently entered a new phase here. To make room for the construction of the tunnel, part of the Boulevard in Rozenburg was excavated," Perry explains. "Now that the roof of the tunnel is finished, work has begun on rebuilding the Boulevard. To do this, we first apply the soil that was released during the excavation of the tunnel. To get our machines into the construction pit, two crawler cranes and a 13-ton vibratory roller, they were brought down using a 200-ton telecrane. By turning down fill material, the machines worked themselves upward. About 90,000 cubic meters of material are involved."
As Bunnik Rental and Earthmoving, we are proud to be part of such a special project as the Blankenburg connection, says Perry. "To date, everything is running smoothly. Thanks to the efforts of our motivated skilled workers. People we take great care of and who are also regularly active on the Maasvlakte and many other projects for the most diverse work."
