Safe deposition for people and equipment

During the construction of the New Lock in Terneuzen, safety is paramount. Contractor combination Sassevaart uses a strict safety philosophy to prevent (near) accidents. This includes proper fencing. Leave that to Bouwhekken Nederland, which has been supplying the necessary fencing and associated accessories on the project for five years now.

Bouwhekken Nederland is the partner in temporary fencing with a large assortment in all different types and sizes. "For all purposes we supply the right type of construction fence directly from stock with guaranteed delivery within 1-2 working days in the Netherlands and Belgium," says Jornd van der Heide of Bouwhekken Nederland. "In addition, we can also take assembly and camera security off our hands. This versatility means that we are regularly called in by large contractor combinations, such as here on the Nieuwe Sluis, to supply the necessary fencing for the duration of a project. In all shapes and sizes."

Many hundreds of deposit types

The first delivery for contractor combination Sassevaart involved a series of a total of 900 construction fences in 2018, Van der Heide continued. "The construction fences were purchased by the combination at the time and delivered and assembled by us in two phases. These were standard construction fences in block with clamps and braces, creating a safe shield for people and equipment. Some time later, we supplied the necessary accessories again, such as hinges and running wheels to create gates, as well as rugs on construction fences. Such "rugs" have a multiple function: they hide the construction site from view, have an advertising function and protect the materials behind from being blown away. We are now five years down the road and still involved in the project. For example, we recently delivered another series of about 300 lower fences and crowd barriers of 1.10 and 1.20 meters high. This type of fencing is primarily intended to continue to mark the boundaries and ensure safety even in the final phase."

Contractor combination Sassevaart purchased the fencing in full from Bouwhekken Nederland. "Often the fences are divided among the combiners at the end of the project, but a buy-back arrangement is also negotiable," says Van der Heide. "We also regularly facilitate products for rental orders. For this we work closely with various rental companies throughout the country to provide clients with temporary fencing quickly and efficiently." In short, Bouwhekken Nederland has "everything" in house for a safe site, and if desired also completely in the house style of the infrastructure contractor.
