"Infra Relatiedagen 2023 promises to be a special edition," says community builder Jacqueline Seton of organizer Easyfairs. "What's new, for example, is that with the Materieelpark van het Heden en de Toekomst we're also literally going outside, so exhibitors can demonstrate their equipment live."
Over three hundred exhibitors will present their products, equipment and solutions for the infrastructure sector in the seven halls of Evenementenhal Hardenberg. The fair is scheduled for February 7, 8 and 9. Climate adaptation is the theme of the 2023 edition. Seton: "We see this reflected in every possible way. From rolling stock to sustainable asphalt. We also see that the sector is already thinking about how to cope with the consequences of climate change. How do you treat large quantities of rainwater in a short time, but also: how do you ensure that bridges continue to function in extreme heat? Therefore, on the exhibition floor attention to civil engineering works in relation to climate change."
With four months to go, the contours of Infra Relatiedagen are becoming clear. Also new is the Government Park. "This is going to be beautiful," Seton says. "Really think of a park-like environment with picnic tables and trees. We're bringing governments and contractors together here. We've heard from both parties that they need informal conversations about what's going on. What projects are on the agenda at municipalities and provinces, the contractors are curious about. Governments, in turn, are curious about the latest, innovative solutions contractors can offer. 'Talking at the picnic table' allows contractors and governments to talk to each other without formalities. We have plans to link a small knowledge program to this."
"The big news is: we're going outside. And who knows, we might put a cake and biscuits tent there. What really matters, of course, is that participants can demonstrate their equipment. You may feel it vibrate, or you may not hear it because it's electric equipment," Seton said. "We successfully launched the Equipment Park last year, then with only electric equipment. Still, that was too limiting. We are therefore expanding it in the direction of conventional fuels. There are also sustainable innovations to report in the area of diesel. We also want to highlight those. In addition, we see hybrid applications emerging. In essence, the bottom line is that with the Materieelpark van het Heden en de Toekomst we are showing visitors how equipment is being made more sustainable."
Infra Relatiedagen is a trade fair for people working in the Infra sector. Seton: "It is a real community that literally makes the Netherlands run. We want to convey that feeling on the exhibition floor. We also want to show that the sector is overflowing with dynamism. We also want to show that to young people. That is why we are organizing a Student Route on the first day of the fair. By means of a route through the fair past exhibitors, we give young people a glimpse of the infrastructure sector. Of course, in the hope that they will choose a job in this sector."
Also new is a knowledge program on Day 2 of Infra Relatiedagen with the promising name "The Preliminary Project. Seton: "Before the first spade is driven into the ground in a new project, research has to be done. Are there possible archaeological finds or are there explosives in the ground? Soil research must also be done. This preliminary process is discussed during a short knowledge program."
