Part of the total section of the dike reinforcement Gorinchem-Waardenburg cannot be reinforced using earthwork, the traditional solution. At these locations, the stability of the existing dike will be reinforced by an anchored steel sheet pile construction. Jetmix supplies and installs the necessary grout injection anchors, including the steelwork consisting of purlin structures and anchor seats.

To begin with, a few figures: 1,100 pieces of grout anchors, including anchor chairs, and 3,000 m1 purlin constructions. This is the total of materials and resources delivered and installed by Jetmix at eleven sub-locations spread across the Gorinchem-Waardenburg section. "The 'Waalensemble' combination, consisting of Heijmans, GMB and De Vries & Van de Wiel, asked us at the time to quote for the delivery and installation of the necessary anchors on the Gorinchem - Waardenburg dike reinforcement project," explains Marinus de Heus of Jetmix. "We have previously collaborated on the projects Diefdijk Asperen and Dike Improvement Hagestein - Opheusden (HOP) both of which fall under the management of the Rivierenland Water Board."
In its more than 15 years of existence, Jetmix has become the anchoring specialist in the Netherlands. The company is part of the Hakkers Groep, a family business that has existed for nearly 150 years. It specializes particularly in the vibration-free, through drilling, installation of grout anchors, anchor piles and foundation piles. According to De Heus, Jetmix's strength is "the in-house execution of both design, production of materials and application and testing of anchors. "Thus, for this project we also created a plan for the execution of the work, from the time of order to the final delivery. Important components of the plan of action include safety, health, environment, risk management, nuisance and quality. These are important challenges to consider within this project. Another challenge was to design a safe structure for the design life of 100 years within all applicable laws and regulations."
To carry out daily operations, including levee reinforcements, Jetmix has about 10 foundation machines under its own control, ranging in deadweight between 15 and 110 tons. "In foundation engineering, equipment is an essential part of operations. This is why we invest annually in keeping our equipment fleet up-to-date. For example, four years ago we invested in a Woltman 90DR foundation machine with which we can install drilled foundation piles, anchor piles and sheet piling (vibration-free). Our machines meet current standards both environmentally and ergonomically. Not only does this enable us to make our contribution to challenging projects, it also enables us to contribute to the lowest possible CO2 emissions. An important condition for the execution of the dyke reinforcement."
