Immersion technology for immersion tunnel projects and marine structures

On December 15, 2023, an agreement was reached on the demerger of Strukton Immersion Projects from Strukton Groep NV. As of said date, the company will sail its own course on an independent basis with the help of various external investors. It will do so under the new name Immontec Immersion & Monitoring Solutions, a name that tells exactly what the immersion expert, based in Utrecht, stands for. Peter van Westendorp, CEO of Immontec, is a satisfied man. "With this step, the continuity of the company towards our customers is optimally guaranteed."

Immontec is considered the expert in immersion technology, both for the traditional market of immersion tunnel projects and for maritime constructions. Thereby, the challenge cannot be big or complex enough for the driven and experienced team. "Regardless of the nature or size of the project, we have the knowledge, data and experience to provide the client with an innovative and sustainable solution," says Peter. "This is provided first and foremost by our employees. They are and will remain the company's most important assets. Furthermore, we can rely on a solid network of experts that has all the necessary expertise. Another quality lies in our approach. We work according to the structured and highly proven effective AOO method: Analyze, Organize, Operate. A working method based on intensive cooperation, openness and safety."

Security

At Immontec, failure is not an option. And every scenario is thought through. An approach that rests on the responsibility and accountability the organization takes within each project framework. Anywhere in the world. "We make every effort to minimize risks for our clients," Peter continues. "In addition, we place great value on sustainability. For example, we always weigh the environmental impact around the determination of our working methods. The conditions for this are clearly stated in black and white in our SDG policy." In addition, the synergy with sister company Geocon contributes to the final result. The one-two punch makes Immontec one of the strongest players in the market for immersion tunnels and more. "We are increasingly using our knowledge and skills in the market for maritime operations, such as the realization of gravity-based foundations for offshore wind and caissons for bridge foundations. Geocon is a loyal partner in this, always providing complex monitoring and positioning of the work. In addition, Geocon is a specialist in monitoring for complex construction and infrastructure projects. In doing so, it contributes to making the process as economical as possible," said Peter, who looks to the future bright and confident. "Within a process of healthy growth, we are going to look for an even better position in a market that offers an awful lot of potential. We will do this completely independently and with full control."
