Om de oude brugklep van de Papendrechtsebrug te verwijderen, pasten aannemerscombinatie Mobilis en Croonwolter&dros(CMCP) en haar partners Hollandia Infra en Machinefabriek Rusthoven een unieke methode toe. Omdat de waterdiepte nabij de waterkering gering was, koos de aannemerscombinatie ervoor de klep van 900 ton verticaal op te vijzelen en aansluitend horizontaal uit te varen. Deze werkwijze wijkt af van het gangbare uithijsen met drijvende hijsbokken. "Voor zover ik weet, is deze methode niet eerder in Nederland toegepast en mogelijk op deze schaal zelfs niet in Europa", zegt Rick van Lent, projectmanager bij Mobilis. Het is echter niet de enige bijzonderheid van de renovatie van deze brug uit 1967.
In large-scale dike reinforcement projects, the distance between the extraction site and the work site has a major impact on the efficiency and sustainability of the project. Thanks to the strategic location of the clay quarry in Winssen, the construction company J. den Boer is able to deliver large quantities of clay quickly and with minimal transport movements. Combined with electric transport on the dike, the company is making a significant contribution to the sustainable execution of this extensive dike reinforcement project.
