Many road surfaces are only addressed once the damage is visible. But it is precisely what you cannot yet see on the surface that determines how quickly a road deteriorates and what it will ultimately cost. Those who wait until the asphalt is ‘worn out’ before taking action automatically end up with the most expensive and environmentally damaging solution: replacement. The real benefit lies in extending the lifespan by applying the right maintenance at the right time. This way, roads remain in good condition longer, with lower costs, fewer CO₂ emissions, and less impact on the environment.

Along the A28 near Ermelo, Kokosystems recently installed a Kokowall® noise barrier measuring 518 meters in length and 4.5 meters in height. The barrier is an essential part of the Horsterhoeve area development, where a new residential neighborhood is being built right next to the A28 highway. Without adequate noise mitigation measures, residential construction at this location would not be possible.

Effective road markings play a major role in ensuring the safety and clarity of public spaces. Yet the importance of markings is often greatly underestimated. Stephan Daams, Business Development Manager for Road Markings at Triflex, believes this is unjustified. “Without markings, we’re basically lost. They provide structure and functionality to the road.”
