ANP-Systems is an independent manufacturer of systems for tensioning and anchoring technology. The company has its origin and home base in Austria, but for the past two years it has also been operating with its own production facility in Germany. From these two countries they serve customers in the Netherlands and Belgium, among others. A broad portfolio of systems for tensioning and geotechnical engineering combined with a large stock position makes ANP-Systems a reliable partner for both large and small projects.
ANP-Systems holds numerous approvals from construction authorities from various European countries. Internally, therefore, we are constantly working to manage and expand these system certifications. "In addition to national approvals, we also have European ETA (European Technical Assessment) approvals. Especially in (pre)tensioning technology, this is a must," knows sales manager Remco van der Voorden. "In addition to various ETAs for bar systems, we recently completed ETA certification for a prestressing system up to 37 strands. In new construction and renovation of numerous bridges and engineering structures, we can act as a partner for customers here as well."
In addition, ANP-Systems is working to understand the environmental impact of its systems. "An example is the EPD registration of our self-drilling anchor system. Its registration was started in 2021 and completed and registered on the ECO Portal in April 2022. With a saving of more than 70% compared to global kent numbers, we can make a good contribution here to our customers' MKI scores."
In system-oriented thinking, we also try to remain especially innovative, Remco continues. "As part of an increasing demand for higher capacity geotechnical and tensioning systems, we are currently working on the construction of a tensile testing machine with a capacity of 10 meganew tons. The machine is unique, developed in-house, and will soon be put into operation. For tests in this load class, there are very limited possibilities to properly put this away in the market. Now we can perform and control this at our fingertips, under external supervision."
Due to its broad portfolio, ANP-Systems is continuously present and involved in the market. "We recently started delivering the new tension pile system for the rehabilitation of the Princess Margriet Tunnel in the A7. A joint process with the contractor in which we shared our full knowledge and experience. SAS tension pile elements are being processed up to 30 meters in one piece. That doesn't happen every day. We are also involved in the widening of the A9 with many different geotechnical anchor systems. There is provision for delivery of all SAS anchor piles (through our parent company) and a specific system (GS-RR102) consisting of massive Ø100mm anchor piles. This customized system was developed internally based on a customer-specific request and demonstrates the flexibility of our organization. For the structures and sunken location of this project, we provide the executing contractor combination with temporary and permanent strand anchors. All in all, a very nice and varying project."
ANP-Systems is also strong in the area of specials, such as electrically insulated anchors used near railroads. "We have good contacts with administrators here and this year we have delivered a number of projects, both in SAS bars and strand versions." Remco concludes, "In addition to the Dutch market, we have been more active in the Belgian market since last year. The involvement in the expansion of the Royers lock and renovation of the Europa terminal in Antwerp indicates, that we are also increasingly recognized here."
