Van Schie Groep: sterke oplossingen in infra, bruggen en staal
De infrasector profiteert op verschillende fronten van de samenwerkende bedrijven binnen de Van Schie Groep.

Van Schie Group: strong solutions in infrastructure, bridges and steel

The Van Schie Group profiles itself as an expert in ‘strong solutions̉. The versatile organization unites a group of companies, each with its own specialty, but with the same go-getter mentality. The group consists of Van Schie as an infra-generalist, Janson Bridging for the rental and sale of (temporary), modular bridges and HP Staal for the purchase, sale and rental of steel. “Together we strengthen and complement each other in numerous projects,” says Bastiaan Hulsbos, commercial manager of the Van Schie Group.

The infrastructure sector benefits on several fronts from the cooperating companies within the Van Schie Group. “We realize accessibility solutions at every level: from driving plates or a temporary bridge to complete pontoon islands,” says Hulsbos. “Always smart, sustainable and innovative. We have the drive to continuously improve and this is reflected in our latest products and systems.”

Janson Bridging: letting and selling

At Janson Bridging, the world's largest provider of temporary, modular bridges, it's not just about rental anymore. ’Sales of bridges are also possible, all based on the modular DNA,“ says Hulsbos. ”That means that in addition to the well-known standard solutions, clients can also purchase less common bridge types, completely modular. Purchase is especially interesting when a project has a long-term vision, or when a (semi-)permanent bridge is needed for a water board or municipality, for example.“

An example of Janson Bridgings innovation is the JSB-4 that allows for longer, free spans with fewer supports.

New generation of bridges

An example of Janson Bridgings innovation is the JSB-4, the latest bridge type. Says Hulsbos, “The fourth generation within the JSB series allows for longer, free spans with fewer supports. Joint transitions have also been improved, making this modular bridge type extra quiet.” The system recently proved itself during the construction of Europe's largest temporary highway bridge - 94.5 by 32.5 meters - in the center of Amstelveen, as part of the A9 road widening project.

New generation of pontoons

Van Schie also continues to innovate, for example with the introduction of the VSP1250 pontoon. “With a height of 1.25 meters, this pontoon has almost twice as much buoyancy as the VSP770,” explains Hulsbos. “This makes it ideal for excavators, cranes and heavy freight traffic. Ramps are not required. Moreover, the pontoons are modularly linkable, both lengthwise and widthwise, and can be fully equipped with accessories such as guardrails, ramps and spud pole holders. So we build complete, fully certified islands, in accordance with the latest laws and regulations.”

HP Steel: for the purchase, sale and rental of steel, and also stocks steel bulkheads.

Steel bulkheads

You can also turn to Van Schie for steel bulkheads. “The bulkheads are excellent for use as outriggers for large cranes or easy to use as temporary bridges for smaller spans,” says Hulsbos. “Due to their modular construction, the bulkheads can be linked together widthwise, making them ideally suited for various infrastructure applications. This makes them a flexible and practical solution for many different projects.”

With these and many other developments, the Van Schie Group continues to invest in the future. “Ultimately, we have a common goal as a chain: to build the future together. With ‘strong solutions’ we make our contribution to that.”
