Last year was another busy one for Zagron Grondbank Bouwstoffen. With their Terramixx, they supply soil improvers for better tree growth. "We specialize in the production of tree sand, tree soil and tree granulate for the stand improvements of trees in the city," said owner Jan Willem Hofmans.
A year ago, Hofmans became a full owner of Zagron, a family-owned business that dates back several generations. "January 1, 2023, Zagron will exist for 10 years. We are a small family business, but our years of knowledge allow us to offer products of the highest quality."
Continued growth is also high on the agenda this coming year. "We just moved and we're going to continue to expand our new location, we're going to make sure we have an even larger inventory. With the shortage of raw materials, that's something we want to respond to. When a customer calls us, we think it's important that we can help them right away and not have to wait a week for delivery."
Anything Zagron Grondbank Bouwstoffen delivers, they take back and process at their site. "Think rubble, green waste and excess soil, we can take this all back with us. So we recycle our soil ourselves at our own site. That's kind of something we're unique in."
And it all happens in Ammerzoden. "We collect the various streams at our depot. When the depot is properly filled, a mobile plant comes to process the materials. After this, the recycled materials can be used in various ways. From biomass and compost for soil improvers to mixed granulate for road construction. In this way, in addition to raw materials, we also save the environment by leaving as little waste as possible."
