In over 25 years Bonneveld has grown to become the specialist subcontractor in our country in the field of groundwork, in the broadest sense of the word. Many contractors and contractor combinations gratefully make use of the knowledge and expertise of this family business that convinces with smart and well thought-out execution techniques. Thanks to more than 65 enthusiastic employees and an extensive and up-to-date machine park. By thinking more deeply, differently and therefore more creatively, Bonneveld is increasingly being asked to join construction teams, which results in beautiful collaborations.
Bonneveld has grown up excavating dry and wet construction pits. "Our machines are quite extensively equipped with all modern technologies. We even have maritime GPS equipment on our machines, even though we never go to sea," says director Harry van der Heiden with a laugh. "We are averse to damage to piles or anchors under water, so we do everything we can to prevent that. With regular GPS equipment, that doesn't work. Furthermore, we are fully equipped to take care of underwater work completely from A to Z, complete with in-house optimized cap pumps, fully automated polymer plants and a particularly wide range of unique attachments so that we can successfully deliver any tub."
Parking garage Jaarbeursplein Utrecht, several locks on De Afsluitdijk or those of the huge bicycle shed behind Hoofdstation Groningen, they were all excavated by Bonneveld. "We are strong in devising special techniques and methodologies to tackle projects as efficiently as possible," says Harry. "Excavating underwater pits is hard enough, so you shouldn't make it even harder on yourself. Soon we will start excavating a construction pit with an area of about 2,500 square meters that we will excavate to a depth of no less than 20 meters. The steel tubular piles will be installed only after the construction pit has been completely excavated, thus eliminating many risks. At the pit bottom, at a depth of 20 meters, we extract the drilling grout which can amount to 8 m3 per pile. The latter is usually considered a waste product. With our grout recycling plant, we separate the three materials back into the original raw material - sand, cement and water - so they can be reused on site. Absolutely groundbreaking in wet work," agrees Harry.
Bonneveld is also considered the reference in our country in making reinforced soil structures. "We have made great strides in this in recent years," says Leon van der Heiden, son of Harry. Bonneveld is an important partner of Joosten Concepts in this. "In this capacity we have, among other things, realized the reinforced soil constructions at the A9 (a project that is still in progress, ed.), we are involved in the A16 Rotterdam (De Groene Boog) and we recently took on a project at the Zuidasdok to realize a large number of constructions in reinforced soil on pile mattresses at the De Nieuwe Meer interchange. In the more than 11 years that we have been installing reinforced soil structures, EPS constructions and pile mattresses, we have optimized many different systems and techniques in-house. As with cofferdams, such soil constructions are also very diverse, but thanks to our systems we can realize the construction as efficiently as possible under all circumstances. We are known for our knowledge and expertise, always go for the 'best for project' solution and do what we say. That is appreciated."
Bonneveld is a solid and financially healthy company with modern machinery and an enthusiastic club of 65 of its own people, plus an equally large flexible workforce. Succession is also already assured. "Anco, Leon and Stefan can take over all my tasks today, so to speak," says Harry. "That gives me a good feeling. Furthermore, we continue to invest in a sustainable future, in both people and equipment. We occupy step 3 on the Safety Culture Ladder and the first days of 2024, for example, are completely dedicated to safety through in-company courses, presentations and medical examinations."
